  • Patent number: 8681693
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for the operation of a network of cognitive radios in a dynamic network topology. The systems and methods make use cross-layer communications to input parameters required by network services into a reasoning engine, which in turns processes the parameter the parameter information and reports linguistic results to the network services. The cross-layer communications are leveraged to shift network service functionality to the MAC or PHY Layers. Route discovery functionality is shifted from routing services down to the MAC or PHY Layers. The route discovery functionality is implemented by a process to elect a relay node based on the number of available channels that each of the source node neighbors has available to communicate with other neighbors.

  • Publication number: 20090145720
Abstract: Freewheel flow track systems are adapted for transporting pallets and/or cartons in heavy-duty pallet and carton flow applications. A flow track system may include multiple track sub-assemblies, each track sub-assembly including multiple wheel assemblies. Each wheel assembly comprises a wheel rotatably mounted on an axle. A lubricant coating may be fixed to and bonded with the axle. The wheel may be constructed from a polycarbonate-based resin that is impregnated with a lubricant for providing lifetime lubrication to the wheels. The wheel includes a hub, a rim concentric with the hub, a web connecting the hub to the rim, and ribs connecting the hub to the rim through the web.

  • Publication number: 20020043442
Abstract: Freewheel flow track systems for transporting pallets and/or cartons in heavy-duty pallet and carton flow applications are disclosed. According to certain embodiments of the invention, a flow track system comprising multiple longitudinally extending, parallel track sub-assemblies is disclosed. The track sub-assemblies each comprise multiple wheel assemblies mounted to a track frame and arranged in a row extending from an entrance end of the track assembly to an exit end of the track assembly. Each wheel assembly comprises an axle and a polycarbonate resin wheel rotatably mounted on the axle. A lubricant coating is fixed to and bonded with the axle. The wheel is constructed from a polycarbonate-based resin that is impregnated with a lubricant for providing lifetime lubrication to the wheels. The wheel includes a hub, a rim concentric with the hub, a web connecting the hub to the rim, and ribs connecting the hub to the rim through the web.

  • Patent number: 5224828
Abstract: A pallet brake track assembly for use in an inclined pallet flow system to maintain slow movement of descending loaded pallets and including, in its most preferred embodiment, first and second frame members extending in parallel to form an extended inner channel, a plurality of inner axles transversely connected between the first and second frame members and located within the extended inner channel, a plurality of inner wheels rotatably mounted on the plurality of inner axles, a plurality of inner cylindrical spacers with axial slits for snap-on assembly coaxially connected around the plurality of inner axles, a brake apparatus located at least partially within the extended inner channel and including a support assembly connected to the first and second frame members and a cylindrical brake drum with a rubber contact surface rotatably connected to the support assembly, a plurality of outer axles connected to at least one of the first and second frame members adjacent to the brake apparatus, each of the outer
