    Abstract: A safe has, in addition to its strong body and door and its combination lock knob and dial, a security mask that is strongly and fixedly secured to the upper side of the door over major portions of the dial, for the purpose of preventing a burglar from hammering on the dial and then driving the spindle and actuating the relockers of the safe. In accordance with another aspect of the invention, an anti auto-dialer is fixedly connected to the security mask over the knob of the combination lock mechanism, to prevent operative engagement between the knob and an auto-dialer mechanism while at the same time permitting manual operation of the knob to work the combination.

    Abstract: A floor safe has wings mounted on it in a high strength manner. The wings are adapted to be bent outwardly by bolts disposed in the valuables chamber of a safe, the bolts being operable when the safe door is not present. When the bolts are threaded outwardly so as to spread the wings, the safe may not be removed from the floor without physically destroying a substantial portion of the floor in the vicinity of the safe.

    Abstract: A sliding door safe with an anti-intrusion locking mechanism, wherein a one or two door arrangement slides in a given direction on rails or ledges between first and second grooves of unequal depths in opposing walls of the valuables receiving chamber. The locking mechanism is carried by the door adjacent the deeper groove and includes a key actuable barrel with a lock arm carrying a blocking member, which, upon locking, is interposed between a position of one door and the adjacent portion of the wall of the chamber to preclude forcible sliding of the door or doors in the given direction. The locking assembly also includes a plate member of a bracket secured in spaced relation to the inner surface of the door in alignment with the lock arm and in proximate relation thereto to deter displacement of the lock arm under force of a punch applied to the lock. The bracket and the blocking member are deterrents to forcible entry and removal of the door.

    Abstract: A safe having a valuables receiving chamber with a generally rectangular access opening with a first ledge arrangement for placement of two plate-shaped separable steel doors thereagainst, with first and second grooves formed on the opposite walls transverse to the first set of opposing walls. A second ledge arrangement is placed in parallel relation to the first for enabling slidable receipt of one door member therein, with the second ledge arrangement being dimensioned so that the ends thereof, along with the grooves retain both the first door member and a second door member. The width of the grooves and the distance between the two sets of ledges are of a dimension slightly more than the thickness of the door, with one of the grooves having a depth substantially greater than the other. A first door is dimensioned to occupy less than one-half the access opening, and the second door is dimensioned to occupy the majority of the remaining area.

    Abstract: A safe construction having a liner configured for forming a valuables chamber with an access opening, the liner being positioned within a cavity in the ground with rebar assemblies adjustably connected to a framework secured to and supporting the liner within the cavity, the rebar assemblies each including first and second rebar sections with a rust resistant coupler interconnecting the two, the coupler being formed preferably of plastic with axially aligned but separated openings, each opening being configured for receiving an end of one of the rebar sections. The rebar assemblies are driven into the ground with the coupler at a position for being totally, or at least partially embedded in the poured concrete for deterring the formation of rust on the rebar sections within the concrete.

    Abstract: A safe having a valuables chamber with an access opening with inwardly extending ledges for placement of a plate-shaped separate steel door thereon, and a set of grooves formed on opposing walls retaining the door therein, the width of the grooves being a distance slightly more than the thickness of the door, with one groove being substantially greater than the depth of the other, with one edge of the door being inserted on a slight angle into the deeper groove while the other edge is pivoted toward the ledge, the door then being laterally displaced until the latter edge is in abutment with the seat of the shallower groove. A lock assembly on the reverse side of the door has the latch bolt engaging a detent in a metal bar for prevention of lateral movement with reinforcing bolts adjacent the lock bolt preventing force on the lock mechanism in the event of forceful intrusion attempts.

At any desired region of his home, the customer provides form means sufficiently large to receive the liner and having as much capacity as the customer wishes.
