    Abstract: Disclosed are novel compounds prepared by reacting mono- or disulfide dimers of 2,5-dimercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole with an aliphatic or aromatic alcohol and aldehyde. The compounds are effective antiwear agents and antioxidants when incorporated into lubricating compositions.
