Publication number: 20220277303Abstract: A method includes receiving a request to verify a dynamic security code included in a transaction authorization request message. The transaction authorization request message was generated in connection with a payment account transaction. The method further includes performing a verification process with respect to the dynamic security code to generate a verification result. In addition, the transaction authorization request message may be modified by adding the verification result to the transaction authorization request message. Also, the modified transaction authorization request message may be transmitted to an issuer of a payment account designated for use in the payment account transaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2022Publication date: September 1, 2022Inventors: Maribeth Sevigny Warner, Pete Kaulbach, Robert C Dunnell, Robert J McDonald, Kathy Donnelly, Thomas Roewe, Ghassan T Jabr, Michael Hochhalter, Russell W Ball, Winifred Elizabeth House, Prasad Krishnamoorthy Rao, Matthew Hanmer, Nora Kryza

Patent number: 7627381Abstract: A combined radiotherapy and hyperthermia therapy is provided, including inducing hyperthermia in at least a portion of a target area—e.g., a tumor or a portion of a tumor or targeted cancerous cells—is provided. Biomolecules labeled with at least one radionuclide suitable for radiotherapy are provided and introduced into a patient; targeted RF absorption enhancers are provided and introduced into a patient; and a hyperthermia generating RF signal is directed via toward the target cells, thereby warming the radionuclide-labeled biomolecules and targeted RF absorption enhancers bound to target cells. The targeted RF absorption enhancers may, in a manner of speaking, add one or more RF absorption frequencies to cells in the target area, which will permit a hyperthermia generating RF signal at that frequency or frequencies to heat the targeted cells.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2005Date of Patent: December 1, 2009Assignee: Therm Med, LLCInventors: John Kanzius, William Harry Steinbrink, Robert J. Patent number: 6445647Abstract: A wideband-to-narrowband conversion method and apparatus performs the operational step of receiving an acoustic wideband signal, initially incident on an array of acoustic wideband transducers and subsequently digitized, and in response thereto generating a spatial Wigner bilinear kernel output signal, and the operational step of receiving and spatially bandpass filtering the spatial Wigner bilinear kernel output signal to remove a wideband low frequency portion as well as any unwanted noise therefrom and retain and output only a narrowband portion thereof.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 1999Date of Patent: September 3, 2002Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Robert J. McDonald, Joellen Wilbur

Patent number: 5946272Abstract: A method is provided to compress and display received data from a toroidal olume search sonar (TVSS) in terms of horizontal range. For any TVSS receive beam having a horizontal component projection that is equal to or greater than a selected horizontal range, the data values occurring at that selected horizontal range are averaged to form a compressed data value. Range dependent weight factors are applied during the averaging process so that the effects of surface and bottom reverberation do not bias the compressed data value. The compressed data value can then be displayed as a function of horizontal range for a series of sonar pings in order to provide a time history.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1998Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Robert J. McDonald, Jo Ellen Wilbur, Robert C. Manning, Lisa B. Tubridy

Patent number: 5781504Abstract: An apparatus and method for beamforming for a toroidal volume search sonar. onar array vehicle motion is used to reduce reverberation by fixing beams geometrically in space to prevent beam contact, prior to a specified range, with the sea surface or sea bottom interfaces. Reverberation is further reduced by creating a composite beam from one scanned beam containing the target dominated by surface reverberation and another dominated by bottom reverberation. A correlation and averaging procedure is applied to the two scanned beams to further reduce the reverberation in the composite beam. To further reduce reverberation, the two beams selected for correlation and averaging processing are chosen such that the number of common elements associated with the two beams is a minimum within a given angular separation.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1997Date of Patent: July 14, 1998Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Robert C. Manning, Robert J. McDonald, Jo Ellen Wilbur

Patent number: 5387864Abstract: A DC superconductor quantum interference device (i.e. DC SQUID) is used in a flux-locked loop as a sensitive detector of magnetic flux. Prior art devices of this sort had a transfer function which was frequency-limited by the transfer function of impedance matching circuitry which is used to connect the DC SQUID with the first preamplifier, which amplifies the DC SQUID signal before it is applied to a detector circuit. The present invention corrects this frequency limitation by creating a compensating circuit having a transfer function which is the inverse of that of the impedance matching circuitry, and inserting it in the system after the first preamplifier and before the detector circuit.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1993Date of Patent: February 7, 1995Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Meir Gershenson, Robert J.
