  • Patent number: 12136221
Abstract: Systems for image evaluation and dynamic cropping are provided. In some examples, a system, may receive an instrument or image of an instrument. Identifying information may be extracted from the instrument or image of the instrument. Based on the extracted identifying information, a check/check image profile may be retrieved. In some examples, expected size and/or shape data may be extracted from the check/check image profile. The extracted expected size and/or shape data may be compared to size and/or shape data from the received instrument or image of the instrument to identify any anomalies (e.g., to determine whether the expected size and/or shape data matches the size and/or shape data of the received instrument or image of the instrument. If the expected size and/or shape data does not match size and/or shape data from the received instrument or image of the instrument, the instrument or image of the instrument may be programmatically modified and a modified image of the instrument may be generated.

  • Patent number: 8435371
Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention is a method comprising contacting a composition comprising i) alumina particles having a particle size of about 1 to about 40 microns and a Mohs hardness of about 9.0 to about 9.5; ii) one or more alkyl sulphates; iii) one or more thickeners; and iv) water with the surface of glass or a ceramic frit disposed on the surface of glass. The contacting can be performed by applying the composition to the surface of the glass or the ceramic frit using an application apparatus. In one embodiment, the composition further comprises a lubricant. In another embodiment, the composition further comprises one or more ethoxylated alcohols. In another embodiment, the composition further comprises one or more fragrances.

  • Publication number: 20110084520
Abstract: An improved apparatus and method of joining two metallic components prior to making a full seam weld is disclosed. A first inner structural metallic component has at least one neutral zone, an inner surface, an outer surface and an aperture located in the neutral zone. A second outer structural metallic component has at least one neutral zone, an inner surface, an outer surface and a dimple with a raised portion on the inner surface and a recessed portion on the outer surface. The method uses the steps of joining the first and second metallic components so that the first component outer surface and the second component inner surface are directly adjacent each other, and joining the two structural metallic components by forming a full seam weld between the two components.

  • Patent number: 7878759
Abstract: Method and apparatus for providing a turbofan blade 40 adapted to initiate and control a boundary layer transition at a side surface of the blade 40 during operation as a component in a turbofan assembly 35. The turbofan blade 40 includes a leading edge 55, a trailing edge 58, and two side surfaces including a high-pressure side surface 49 and a low-pressure side surface 52. At least one of the two side surfaces has an essentially smooth surface portion 61 located between the leading and trailing edges, and the essentially smooth surface portion is interrupted by a surface deviation 64. The surface deviation is configured to fix a positionally unstable laminar to turbulent boundary layer transition 24 at a location toward the trailing edge from the surface deviation during operation of the turbofan blade in the turbofan assembly.
