  • Patent number: 6082547
Abstract: A plastic jig which may be injection molded has a plurality of square pockets, each pocket having a pair of integral spring loaded fingers on two adjacent sides of square component trays for repeatedly and consistently positioning the component trays placed in said pocket. The resiliency of said spring loaded fingers operate to urge the square tray against fixed locating portions of the pocket. Features on the top and bottom of the jig provide for the secure stacking of jigs while holding trays. An upper jig above an adjacent lower jig provides a cover, enclosing the components in the tray in lower jig.

  • Patent number: 5833073
Abstract: A device for storing and transporting electronic devices such as semiconductor chips, comprising: a frame having a top side, a bottom side, a periphery, and a window within the periphery, a thin film covering the window, the thin film having on its top surface an adhesive layer, the adhesive layer being adapted to hold a plurality of electronic devices, the electronic devices being attachable to the adhesive layer at any location on the thin film within the window, and the electronic devices being uncovered, a recess in the bottom side, and a raised flange around the window on the top side wherein the raised flange of one of the devices mates with the recess of another device, thereby allowing the devices to be stacked. The adhesive properties of the adhesive layer may be greatly reduced by exposure to electromagnetic radiation such as heat (infrared) or ultraviolet, thereby releasing the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 5046615
Abstract: A disk shipper assembly consists of a bottom and a cover which mates therewith in latching engagement. The bottom and cover can be handled, as a complete package, by its constituent components and in assembly and disassembly entirely by robotics. The shipper bottom is configured to permit ID or OD handling of the disk contents. The bottom is further configured to be compatible with certain existing disk carriers in manually transferring the disk content to the carrier and vice versa. Since the particular disk carrier with which the bottom of the disk shipper is compatibly designed prohibits external diameter handling, the novel disk shipper bottom facilitates transposing the disks from the carrier into a configuration that permits both ID and OD handling.

  • Patent number: 4930634
Abstract: A strong and rigid carrier of substantial size fabricated of melt processible plastic for flat glass panels being processed for use in flat panel displays. The carrier has a pair of light weight but rigid and strong end walls in confronting and spaced relation to each other. Each end wall has a periphery thereabout and central ribs with an inclined panel adjoining the central ribs and traversing the height of the central ribs. Outwardly extending mounting flanges adjoin the periphery with a multiplicity of annular bosses protruding inwardly from the flanges. Large openings are in the end walls to allow machine and fluid processing access to the glass panel within the carrier. The carrier has a front open side and two sidewalls in confronting and spaced relation. The sidewalls each have a multiplicity of elongate sidewall segments each preferably being tubular and oblong in cross section or having portions which extend transversely and obliquely of the peripheries of each end wall.

  • Patent number: 4815601
Abstract: A carrier for large glass panels or substrates coated with material being processed into flat panel displays, the carrier including end panels with planar portions offset endways outwardly of the carrier to permit access to the end most panels in the carrier, a multiplicity of sidewall segments spaced from each other and spaced around the periphery of said end wall panels to define three sidewalls of the carrier, leaving one side open for access into the interior of the carrier, the sidewall segments having grooves and ribs for receiving and supporting the edges of the glass panels, the sidewall segments being welded to the end walls in an integral one piece structure, the wall segments having mounting panels at their ends, the mounting panels and the end walls having oblong annular ribs extending along the peripheries of the end walls and being welded together for rigidly attaching the sidewall segments to the end walls in an integral one piece construction.
