  • Patent number: 8152586
Abstract: A lamp or light tube that is both shatterproof and produces an after-glow effect. The light tube is comprised of a cylinder sealed by glass and metal end caps on each end of the glass-sealed cylinder, and electrical conducting pins extend from at least one of the metal end caps to connect the light tube to a power source. The glass-sealed cylinder is coated on its exterior with a shatterproof coating composition that emits an after-glow effect. The coating composition is comprised of a strontium aluminate after-glow phosphor, an ethylene acid copolymer resin, and an ultraviolet additive.

  • Patent number: 7572479
Abstract: A method and apparatus for coating the glass envelope and portions of the end caps of fluorescent light tubes in a continuous and sequential manner with a thermo-plastic material. The coating is applied by a cross head extruder through which the light tubes are sequentially fed. A vacuum applied during the coating process promotes direct and intimate contact between the coating and the light tubes. The end caps may be heated prior to coating to ensure adherence of the coating to the end caps and not to the glass envelope. Post-coating processes include cooling the coating, severing individual light tubes from the chain of sequentially coated light tubes, and readying the coated light tubes for packaging. The method is automatic, with the apparatus being automatically controlled by a control unit.

  • Patent number: 5505664
Abstract: A children's swing ride is composed of an articulated seating platform having an axis of articulation. A pair of hangers is connected to the seating platform on opposite sides of that axis and a pair of levers extends from the platform on opposite sides of that axis. In use, the platform is suspended by way of the hangers from an overhead support so that riders sitting on opposite ends of the platform can swing back and forth and, by exerting force on the other rider's lever, cause articulation of the seating platform.

  • Patent number: 5294153
Abstract: A riding toy for children has a chassis, a pair of side walls, lateral roof supports and wheel supports. The chassis includes locating protuberances and securement apertures which cooperate with side wall recesses and darts, respectively, to secure the side walls thereto. The roof supports have apertures formed therein which cooperate with roof darts on the side walls to establish a rigid construction of the chassis, side walls and roof supports. The chassis also has seat portions and axle tie bars interconnecting side rails. A front axle tie bar has vertical axle support guides which provide steerable supports for the front axles.
