  • Patent number: 8937734
Abstract: A system and method are provided for creating a URL shortcut name corresponding to a web page and printing the web page with the shortcut name. The system includes a printer in operative communication with a processor configured for accessing a network and the at least one web page identifiable by a corresponding URL; a memory storing a shortcut name corresponding to the URL; and at least one application software module having a set of programmable instructions configured for execution by the processor for enabling said printer to print the shortcut name on a web page printout corresponding to the at least one web page. The system further enables providing the shortcut name in an URL address window of a network browser, determining the corresponding URL from the shortcut name, and accessing the at least one web page using the determined URL.

  • Patent number: 8860960
Abstract: Systems and methods of adding information to an N-Up output document. The systems and methods include a user interface of a printer driver that can prompt a user to enter information about an accessed original document to be printed as N-Up. The entered information relates to specific page images, N-Up pages, as well as to the N-Up document itself. A printer can print an N-Up output document with both the page images and the associated entered information. The entered information is displayed either in proximity to the respective components, or in a list which provides a reference for a viewer.

  • Patent number: 8854697
Abstract: Systems and methods of scanning, enlarging, and printing one or more selected areas of a document are disclosed. The systems and methods include an imaging device that partitions a document into a plurality of grid areas and receives, from a user, a selection for one or more of the grid areas to be enlarged and printed. The imaging device further receives or determines an enlarged output size for the selected grid areas. The imaging device scans the document to form digital images corresponding to the selected grid areas, and adjusts and enlarges the digital images to equate to the enlarged output size. A printer of the imaging device outputs the enlarged digital images on paper of the output size.

  • Patent number: 7525676
Abstract: A system for enabling client devices to access different sets of features on a multifunction device to which the devices are coupled includes a multifunction device having an input device for receiving constraint data that identifies a subset of multifunction features available on the multifunction device for at least one client device in a plurality of client devices coupled to the multifunction device; and a memory for storing the constraint data in association with the one client device. Each client device includes a multifunction device driver that is configured to generate a print job for the multifunction device in accordance with the constraint data corresponding to the client device that was received from the multifunction device. Thus, the driver at each client device generates print jobs that utilize the features identified by the constraint data received at the client device.

  • Patent number: 5500715
Abstract: An apparatus and method for assembling printing option menu selections to form a final set of printing instructions for a print job. A printer user interface accepts a first set of printing instructions, while a printer port accepts a computer generated storage media having a print job including a second set of printing instructions embedded therein. A processor maintains a default set of printing instructions at the printer. A processor combines the first set of printing instructions, the second set of printing instructions and the default set of printing instructions so as to compile the final set of printing instructions for completing the print job. The printing instructions may be compiled so as to prioritize the printing instructions in a desired manner. The user interface may display the various set of printing instructions, and warn printer users when conflicts arise between the instructions.
