  • Patent number: 5624729
Abstract: Disclosed is a lanate composite elastic material made by a method including the steps of applying a tensioning force to elongate at least one pressure sensitive elastomer adhesive sheet; inserting substantially individualized fibrous materials into the elastic sheet by mechanical needling the elastomer sheet while it is maintained in an elongated condition; and releasing the tensioning force so the attached fibrous materials are positioned closer together by the recovery of the elastic sheet. The resulting lanate composite elastic material has stretch and recovery properties, bulk, and desirable insulation properties. One or more layers of the lanate composite material may be combined with other layers of material to create a multi-layer structure.

  • Patent number: 4892784
Abstract: A process is disclosed for inhibiting thermal oxidative degradation of polypropylene webs results from rinsing the polypropylene webs after washing in an aqueous solution of either dilaurylthiodipropionate (DLTOP) or distearylthiodipropionate (DSTDP). The aqueous solution has a concentration of DLTDP or DSTDP of 5 ppm. The aqueous solution is maintained about 150.degree. F., and the polypropylene web is rinsed or dipped in the aqueous solution until saturated. A polypropylene web is also disclosed which has been treated to inhibit thermal oxidative degradation by the above process.

  • Patent number: 4623341
Abstract: A combination sanitary napkin and interlabial pad is provided by forming an absorbent layer which tapers at one end and folding the layer over on itself to form a double layer with the top layer designed, due to its reduced width, to engage the labia of the user. The upper layer is moveable with respect to the bottom absorbent layer.

  • Patent number: 4505704
Abstract: A sanitary napkin is provided in elongate sheet form such that the fluid impervious baffle, the absorbent, and the fluid impervious cover are coterminous at the longitudinal edges and the napkin stock itself extends at least about four times the length of a conventional mini pad. This sheet stock can be shaped by the ultimate user not only longitudinally to provide the precise length, but also in any configuration desired. In another form the invention contemplates this napkin sheet stock in roll form packaged in a dispenser which preferentially has means for longitudinal cutting.

  • Patent number: 4357939
Abstract: A sanitary napkin having a fluid directing means around an absorbent layer is provided. The napkin has a fluid impervious baffle covering the undersurface, extending up the sides and terminating along the longitudinal periphery of either side of the top surface of the layer. In a particularly preferred embodiment, two absorbent batts are utilized and fluid directional means are provided to direct the fluid in a cross direction extending under the longitudinal top covering portions of the baffle along the sides of the topmost layer and terminating between the bottom surface of the upper layer and the top surface of the lower layer.
