Patent number: 11064043Abstract: A cache server receives content and an instruction indicating an event associated with the content that causes a processor to invoke a call out to an adjunct device. The instruction further indicates an operation that the adjunct device is to perform. The cache server detects the event associated with the content, halts a flow of the content in response to detecting the event associated with the content, passes via the call out the content to the adjunct device to perform the operation, receives from the adjunct device a response and resulting data from the operation, and performs an additional operation on the resulting data based on the response from the adjunct device.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2020Date of Patent: July 13, 2021Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Robert J. Sayko, Gregory J. Smith

Patent number: 11019013Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving an image, delivery instructions, and metadata associated with the image from a first device associated with a first user. The delivery instructions indicate to deliver the image to a second device associated with a second user, and the delivery instructions comprise security features and the metadata comprises a plurality of security preferences for delivery. Further, the plurality of security features and the plurality of security preferences are implemented on the image. In response to determination of a security risk due to the implemented security features or security preferences, the image is not delivered to the second device and a message is delivered to the first device indicating that the image was not delivered. Other embodiments are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2020Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Robert J. Sayko, Chi-To Lin, Douglas M. Nortz, Russell P. Sharples

Patent number: 9531774Abstract: A system for providing multicast distribution of incrementally enhanced content is disclosed. The system may include encoding content by utilizing an incremental layer encoding algorithm to generate a low resolution base stream for content and one or more incremental streams for the content. The incremental streams may each have higher resolutions than the base stream. The system may provide the base streams and one or more of the incremental streams to a client device based on available bandwidth and based on the capabilities of the client device. Each of the streams of content may be provided to the client device by having the client device connect to one or more multicast sessions. As the streams are accessed by the client device, the client device may combine and decode the base streams, along with any accessed incremental streams, to obtain the content at an available resolution.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2010Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Robert J. Publication number: 20160284352Abstract: A machine-readable medium and a network device are provided for speech-to-text translation. Speech packets are received at a broadband telephony interface and stored in a buffer. The speech packets are processed and textual representations thereof are displayed as words on a display device. Speech processing is activated and deactivated in response to a command from a subscriber.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2016Publication date: September 29, 2016Inventors: Charles David CALDWELL, John Bruce HARLOW, Robert J.
