  • Patent number: 8545952
Abstract: A polyester container with enhanced gas barrier properties includes a polyester composition having an IV of 0.65 dL/g to 1.0 dL/g and including a polyester and a reactive organic gas barrier enhancing additive. The polyester is made using at least one first polycondensation catalyst, non-limiting examples of which include metals in Groups 3, 4, 13, and 14 of the Periodic Table and includes a catalyst residue remaining in the polyester from formation of the polyester. The catalyst residue includes at least a portion of the at least one first polycondensation catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20090162589
Abstract: A polyethylene terephthalate and/or co-polyester composition containing one or more bisphenols. A method of making the composition, PET bottle preforms produced from the composition, a method of making a bottle by stretch-blow molding the composition and/or a preform thereof, bottles made from the composition, and a method of reducing the ingress and egress of gases through a film made from the composition.

  • Patent number: 5646208
Abstract: This invention relates to new and useful melt blend compositions of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene isophthalate, and melt blend compositions of polyethylene terephthalate with random copolymers of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene isophthalate wherein each polyester contains an interesterification inhibitor, wherein the resulting melt blend composition of polyesters retain the predominant characteristics of the predominant polyester by weight of the melt blend composition. The extruded polymer melt blend compositions have utility as shrink fiber and film, and as adhesives in the form of powdered binders for non-woven fabrics.

  • Patent number: 5462508
Abstract: An exercise apparatus is disclosed having a pair of laterally spaced clamps adjustably secured to the upper edges of a door frame opening. A shaft depends downwardly from each clamp and the shafts are connected together by a horizontal bar. The shafts have extending sliding shaft portions with adjustable tension portions connected to each sliding shaft for resisting upward movement of the sliding shafts. The sliding shafts include lower ends having concavely curved shoulder engaging portions, wherein a user's upward movement is resisted by the tension portions of the sliding shafts.

  • Patent number: 5290854
Abstract: A low-profile additive composition is disclosed which comprises ethylene glycol, at least one nonpolar diol, adipic acid and trimellitic anhydride. The low-profile additive, when included in an unsaturated polyester resin systems, for use in making sheet molding compositions, provides improved processing characteristics such as viscosity thickening plateau, paste viscosity and phase separation during maturation when the unsaturated polyester.
