    Abstract: A method for non-destructive, qualitative testing of properties of materials, whereby ultra-sonic waves are transmitted in the direction of the material. Ultra-sonic waves reflected by the material are received. The orientation of the material relative to the direction in which the ultra-sonic waves are transmitted is changed in a predetermined way, such that the transmitted ultra-sonic waves arrive at the material under varying angles of incidence and from different directions.
