  • Publication number: 20130160774
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a prophylactic device that includes a condom portion or section and an integrated shield. The condom and the shield are combined together such that the shield and the condom are made from the same material and are a single piece/sheet of material. In other words, the condom and the shield are combined to form a single prophylactic device that cannot be separated (e.g., not two separate devices).

  • Patent number: 6315565
Abstract: A tooth cleaning system having a unitary elastomeric injection molded flexible protective shield, and a nozzle having an end portion extending into the shield. The shield is connected to a source of vacuum and has an inner wall having an inner wall perimeter. The nozzle is connected to a fluid source. The fluid from the fluid source travels directly from the nozzle to less than half of the area enclosed by the perimeter. The nozzle is pivotally supported whereby the nozzle is readily repositioned to positions angularly offset from the central axis of the shield to direct fluid from the nozzle to the entire tooth surface enclosed by the perimeter of the shield. The invention provides a method of cleaning teeth including providing a flexible plastic shield positioned against a tooth surface while pressure within the chamber formed by the flexible protective shield and the tooth surface is reduced to a pressure below ambient atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 6293793
Abstract: An ultrasonic dental tooth treatment system including an ultrasonic dental handpiece, a fluid reservoir housing and a power control housing. The reservoir housing is supported by the control housing. The reservoir housing encloses two containers which are connected to the selector valve. The selector valve is connected to a control housing conduit which is connected to the handpiece. The control housing encloses a power control circuit which is connected to the handpiece. In a preferred embodiment of the invention a fluid dispenser includes at least one readily removable reservoir container supported by a reservoir housing having a pivotable cover and a fluid control valve. The cover is pivotable between an open position and a closed position. The valve is closed by the cover when the cover is in its open position.

  • Patent number: 6030212
Abstract: A stacking system includes a reservoir housing, a base housing and a handpiece. The reservoir housing supports a readily removable container. The reservoir housing has feet and a pivotable cover, which in closed position encloses two containers which are connected by conduits to a valve. Each container has a cap with a first and a second cap connector. Each cap connector is connected to a housing connector. The handpiece is connected by conduits through the base housing to the containers. The cover is pivotable between an open position and a closed position. The cover, in closed position, prevents the cap from moving sufficiently for the cap connector to disengage from the housing connectors. The reservoir housing is supported by and positioned above the base housing. The base housing has an upper face. The upper face has grooves. The feet are positioned in the grooves.

  • Patent number: 5341123
Abstract: A portable door alarm having an alarm pushbutton switch extending from the back of the housing of the alarm has a first L-shaped member hingeably attached to a bottom portion of the housing. At the top of the first L-shaped member is a bracket hanger which fits over the top of a door. The first L-shaped member is biased to close the hinge, thereby placing the first L-shaped member in close proximity to the housing. A leg portion of a second L-shaped member, having a longitudinal portion attached to the back of the housing, is located above the hanger and pushes against a wall portion above the door once the device is placed on the door and the door is closed. If the door is reopened, with the alarm set, an engaging portion of the first L-shaped member presses the alarm pushbutton switch as the L-shaped member returns to its close proximity to the back of the housing due to the biasing thereof. An alarm sounds once the engaging portion depresses the alarm pushbutton switch with the alarm set.
