Abstract: A method and system are provided with instant probability tickets combined with gaming machines wherein the win/lose outcome of the probability game is determined by the subset selections the player makes from a superset comprising a multiplicity of possible game element spots. The gaming machines hold the purchased probability ticket in escrow in an internal region of the gaming machine such that the player cannot gain physical access to the probability ticket until he or she commits to a selection of subset game elements.

A first random number generator using a first prize table selects physical locations in the deal of tickets for the plurality of predetermined non-jackpot winning tickets, and the plurality of variable jackpot tickets. A second random number generator using a second prize table different than the first prize table selects a jackpot prize for each of the plurality of variable jackpot tickets. Some of the jackpot prizes in the second prize table are less than the expected value. The difference between some of the jackpot prizes in the second prize table and the expected value are used to fund one or more jackpot prizes that are greater than the expected value.

Abstract: A banknote validator integrated into an automated machine having a personal identification data collection apparatus and method integrated therein. The system utilizes the banknote image acquisition device, a separate image acquisition device, a computer readable data storage reader and/or an external personal identification data acquisition member for obtaining information from a personal identification reference, such as a state identification card. The system can utilize the personal identification data to determine if the individual is authorized to or restriction from use of the automated machine, provide security to operation of the machine, and create and utilize a relationship between the individual associated with the personal identification and other cards (such as financial cards, facility related cards, etc.) for use in a transaction.
