  • Publication number: 20080192769
Abstract: An apparatus and method for prioritizing communications between devices are provided. According to one aspect, an interface device for providing communications between at least one source device and at least one destination device comprises an input, logic, and an output. The input of the interface device receives data in a first format from the source device. The logic identifies the destination device for receiving the data. The logic then identifies a second format compatible with the destination device and translates the data from the first format to the second format. Transmission of the translated data is then prioritized by the logic based on characteristics of the translated data, which may include the format of the translated data or a service plan associated with the destination device or source device. The translated data is then transmitted to the identified destination device via the output.

  • Publication number: 20080195641
Abstract: An apparatus and method for aggregating and accessing data according to user information are provided. According to one aspect, an interface device for providing data between a first device and a second device comprises an input, an output, logic, and a repository for storing personal data and data associated with one or more users. The input of the interface device receives data in a first format from the first device. The logic receives a data request, identifies a second device for receiving the data, identifies a second format for the second device, and translates the data to the second format. The translated data is then transmitted to the second device via the output. The logic may further collect, aggregate, and transmit the aggregated data to a requesting device. The input may be a product identification input device. The second device may be billed for the data services.

  • Publication number: 20080184106
Abstract: Included are embodiments of systems and methods for providing information. At least one embodiment of such a method includes facilitating establishment of a communication between a user on a communications device and an interface server, the interface server being configured to provide data related to an information tree to the user, the information tree being configured with a plurality of options. Some embodiments include facilitating navigation of a user through the information tree and receiving a first version of a marker from the user, the marker being configured to mark at least one position in the information tree. Still some embodiments include associating the received first version of the marker with a position in the information tree.

  • Patent number: 7277715
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are disclosed for providing a discount to a device. One method obtains a location of the device and obtains a demographic indicator associated with the device. The discount is retrieved from memory, and the discount is based on the location and on the demographic indicator. The discount increases as a distance from a reference location increases. The reference location may represent any location, such as a physical location of a merchant. As the distance between the device and the merchant's physical location increases, the merchant provides a greater discount to entice the customer to travel to the merchant.

  • Patent number: 6743354
Abstract: A catch basin is provided for insertion into a pre-existing storm drain connected to a storm drain system, the storm drain having a shoulder around its upper periphery for supporting a pre-existing, perforated storm drain cover. The catch basin selectively controls the flow of liquids and viscous materials into the storm drain system, and includes a flexible, fluid impermeable container extendable into the storm drain with its edges extendable over the storm drain shoulder about the periphery thereof. The flexible, fluid impermeable container includes a drain hole providing an outlet to the storm drain system. A rigid valve member is attached to the flexible, fluid impermeable container and is configured to selectively open and close the drain hole. The rigid valve member includes a vertically extending wall surrounding the drain hole and extending upward therefrom a distance h to define an opening.

  • Patent number: 5954218
Abstract: A cover for an open head hazardous waste container. The open head container is of the type having a container body that is constructed of elongated side walls and an end wall which border and define a container body cavity. The open head container further being of the type in which the cover is secured to the container body by a bolt ring that is secured around the cover and the container body. The cover has a housing with a passage provided therethrough. The housing also has a sealing portion that is sealably engageable to the container such that the housing passage is connected to the container body cavity. A hinge is then provided upon the housing, and a lid is movably connected to the hinge. The lid is sealable with the housing, and movable about the hinge through open and closed positions. When the lid is in the open position, the housing passage is uncovered. When the lid is in the closed position, the lid is in sealed engagement with the housing.

  • Patent number: 5676185
Abstract: A vented funnel for a closed head hazardous waste container. The container is of the type having side walls and opposed upper and lower end walls. The side walls and end walls of the container border and define a cavity which opens at an opening at the upper end wall. The funnel has a housing with a passage running through the housing. A lid is movably connected to the funnel housing through open and closed positions, in which the lid is configured to create a liquid and airtight seal within the funnel housing when in the closed position. One or more vent lines having openings at opposite ends thereof are disposed within the funnel housing passage. A drum coupling is then connected to the funnel housing and is connectable to the drum. The coupling has an interior surface bordering and defining a passage, wherein the coupling passage connects to the housing passage.

  • Patent number: 5601715
Abstract: An apparatus for removing grease from a compartmental grease trap that has water provided therewithin so that grease forms a layer atop the water in the trap. The apparatus has a mounting portion that is securable to the grease trap and a housing portion pivotally connected to the mounting portion. A filter media is then secured by the housing portion. The housing portion is preferably constructed from a framing structure and an inner structure. The framing structure has two sets of opposed sidewalls and a perforated or mesh bottom sheet that allows water to pass therethrough. The inner structure is separably secured to the framing structure, such as by pivotal connection and the filter media is preferably held between the inner structure and the framing structure. The inner structure is capable of being locked into position with respect to the framing structure by a locking device.

  • Patent number: 5562047
Abstract: A spill deck module includes a substantially planar bottom wall, a pair of opposing side walls and a pair of opposing end walls which form an interior chamber. Each side wall and end wall includes an aperture allowing fluid communication between adjacent modules. Initially, the side wall and end wall apertures are closed by a removable sealing assembly. When a number of modules are desired to be arranged to form a composite spill deck, the sealing assemblies in adjacent modules are removed and replaced with module connection assemblies allowing fluid transfer between adjacent modules. A deck grating either rests on the bottom surface of the spill deck or rests on top of ribs provided in each module. The grating forms a continuous spill deck for support of containers of hazardous or non-hazardous liquid materials in various configurations using different combinations of the spill decks.
