  • Publication number: 20240409575
Abstract: The present disclosure generally describes methods of preparing 1?-cyano nucleosides, such as a compound of Formula (I). For example, the compound of Formula (I) can be prepared from a compound of Formula (II-a) in a flow reactor.

  • Publication number: 20240336510
Abstract: Processes and apparatuses converting poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). An oxidation reaction zone, preferably a thermal oxidizer, is used to oxidize the PFAS into fluoride species. A reaction zone having at least one reactor containing a solid reactant for neutralizing the fluoride species is provided. The solid reactant is also configured to degrade any PFAS remaining in the effluent from the oxidation zone. A cooling zone, for example, a quench zone may be between the reaction zone and the oxidation zone. The PFAS may be liquid PFAS that is injected into the thermal oxidizer.

  • Patent number: 6213559
Abstract: A scarifying blade for use on earthmoving equipment (e.g. a road grader). The lower working edge of the blade has attached to it several spaced rotatable bits, and attached to at least one of the ends of the blade is an end rotatable bit at an angle of about 30 to 60 degrees relative to the spaced bits on the lower edge of the blade. The end bits prevent loosened material from spilling around the end of the blade and they also provide other additional advantages.

  • Patent number: 6059378
Abstract: A flange and shaft for a two-piece forged axle and method for forging same. The flange includes a hub formed concentric about a longitudinal axis wherein the hub defines an inner annular face, an outer annular face, and a bore extending therebetween. The bore includes a first tapered surface diverging from the longitudinal axis. The flange further includes an annular ring coaxial and integral with the hub as well as a locking arrangement integral with the tapered surface for mechanically coupling the flange for rotation with a shaft. Additional embodiments of the present invention include a two-piece axle having a flange generally configured as described above and a cylindrical shaft disposed in the bore of the flange. The shaft includes a first end portion having a first radial upset engaging a first locking arrangement on the flange to couple the flange for rotation with the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6041640
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ejecting a member from a die. The method includes the steps of rotating the member about its axis and axially displacing the member relative to the die. The ejector device includes an ejector having an axis and twisting means for rotating the ejector when the ejector is axially displaced. The invention further includes a formed member including a body being symmetric about an axis, a spiral protrusion extending from the body, and connecting means for rotationally coupling the body to an ejector device.

  • Patent number: 5544413
Abstract: A flashless metal connecting rod of the type having a one-piece construction and being fracturable into a cap portion and a body portion is produced by providing a precise preform of predetermined dimensions and a precise weight, induction heating the preform to a suitable forging temperature, sequentially compressing the preform between a plurality of unique sets of forging dies. The resulting final forging is both flashless and burrless. Preferably, the sequential compressing of the preform is accomplished through three sets of forging dies which progressively form the precision preform to its ultimate shape.

  • Patent number: 4585076
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting an earth working implement, most specifically, a roller-chopper unit for use in forestry, wherein a transporting wheel assembly is disposed upon the earth working implement or its frame thereby providing transportation for the earth working implement from job site to job site. The wheel assembly has a stored position in which the wheels are maintained while the earth implement is performing its task at a specific job site and the transporting wheel assembly further being movable between a working position in which the wheels are maintained against the ground and support the earth working implement during transportation between job sites.
