Abstract: A device comprises external electrodes configured to be held proximate to a patient's skin and to sense conductive communication signals transmitted by an implantable medical device (IMD) within the patient. A dielectric layer is provided on at least a first electrode of the external electrodes to space the first electrode apart from the patient's skin to form a non-contact capacitively coupled interface between the patient's skin and the first electrode. The capacitively coupled interface is sensitive to the conductive communication signals. A circuit is connected to the external electrodes and is configured to output a differential signal corresponding to the conductive communication signals.

The medical device includes a battery, a charge bank configured to store supplemental energy, memory to store program instructions, and device operational circuitry. The device operational circuitry identifies an energy demand (ED) action to be performed by the device operational circuitry in connection with at least one of monitoring a medical characteristic of interest (COI), treating the medical COI, or wirelessly communicating with a separate device. The device operational circuitry obtains an energy consumption estimate for an amount of energy to be consumed by the device operational circuitry in connection with performing the ED action and dispatches a charge instruction to charge the charge bank from the battery with supplemental energy. The device operational circuitry supplies the supplemental energy to the device operational circuitry for performing the ED action in connection with the at least one of monitoring, treating or communicating operations.

The released energy ruptures the tissues around at least one of the respective oil droplets for releasing the oil droplets from containment within the respective droplet tissues. The released, oil droplets are extractable by compressing the compressible solid material.

The bottom has a plurality of recesses extending at least half way into the at least one anti-vibration pad and is adapted for placement on a surface where the potentially vibrating appliance is placed. The at least one anti-vibration pad reduces noise and vibration of the potentially vibrating appliance when the at least one anti-vibration pad is placed under the potentially vibrating appliance. The plurality of protrusions may be textured.

The agents communicate using an XML or alternative extensible data interchange protocol. The agents include device agents to represent each of multiple user devices, which may include computers on a wireline network and mobile devices on a wireless network. The agents also include persona agents to represent each user. The persona agents collect information about the properties of other agents and publish the information to other, subscribing agents. Each persona agent comprises properties to maintain state information for each device used by the corresponding user. Most of the agents reside in a centralized agent system.

The members define at least one slot extending longitudinally between the members and the members are further shaped so that the slot has a wide, bag-gathering area located in an open end of the slot. The slot transitions from the bag-gathering area to a narrow bag-accepting area located at a closed end of the slot. The invention also includes at least one aperture located in the body spaced-apart from the members and the slot and sized to accommodate a human's finger or thumb. A closure clip is fastened and removed from the open end of a bag using arm strength and is not reliant on finger strength or dexterity making the clip particularly user friendly.
