  • Patent number: 4423334
Abstract: Set out herein is an electrical generator conformed for installation in a buoy, the generator comprising an inverted pendulum having two windings formed at the free end thereof and aligned to articulate between two end stops each provided with a magnetic circuit. As the loops thus pass through the magnetic circuit, electrical current is induced which may be rectified through a full way rectifier to charge up a storage battery. The buoy itself may be ballasted to have its fundamental resonance at more than double the wave frequency with the result that during each passing of a wave at least two induction cycles occur.

  • Patent number: 4194312
Abstract: A manually adjustable open four-sided frame and a number of improved clips that cooperate to provide an assembly that removably and frictionally engages a sheet of fabric on which needlepoint or other decoration is being defined to maintain a desired portion of the sheet within the confines of the frame in a taut condition. The clips if desired may be of such structure as to positively as well as frictionally engage peripheral edge portions of the sheet material when the latter is supported in a taut condition on the frame.

  • Patent number: 4176480
Abstract: A device for use in maintaining a poster or like sheet decorative material in a flat configuration by removably engaging narrow marginal edge portions thereof, and as a result no portion of the decorative insignia on the poster being concealed from view when supported by the device. The device when not in use may be dismantled and the components thereof stored side-by-side in a compact configuration until again needed.

  • Patent number: 4152755
Abstract: A portable magnetically actuatable flashlight that includes a hermetically sealed housing that has the light transmitting lens formed as an integral part thereof, and the housing capable of having an electric circuit defining cartridge on which the battery, light emitting bulb, light reflector, and electric circuit completing switch are mounted to be inserted into or removed from the housing. The electric switch is of the reed type, and is actuated to assume a closed position when a movable permanent magnet disposed exteriorly of the housing is moved to a first position for the magnetic field of the magnet to temporarily dispose the switch in an electric circuit completing position.

  • Patent number: 4135668
Abstract: A support assembly for a flat soaker hose comprising a spike insertable into the ground, said spike including mounting provisions at the top end thereof for receiving a clamp assembly at various angular dispositions. The clamp assembly is conformed to provide a plurality of cantilevered fingers disposed in staggered opposing alignment, the interior separation between fingers being dimensioned to provide a clamping fit about the soaker hose. One exterior surface of said clamp is furthermore joined to a mounting structure variously conformed for attachment to the upper end of said spike at various angular alignment. In a first embodiment the upper end of the spike is provided with a planar or rectangular cavity extending vertically downward along or parallel to the axis of the spike and the support structure is conformed as a planar member having a plurality of elongate, coplanar elements extending at various angular alignments therefrom each element being conformed for receipt in said cavity.

  • Patent number: 4085686
Abstract: A collapsible stool structure adapted for use in fishing and other outdoor activities comprises a support shaft which is received in a base plate on assembly. Disposed on the other end of the support shaft and pivotally attached thereto is a seat structure including two angle members radially extending from the pivot to engage one end of a triangle member which, by way of the bell crank bracket pivotally engages the support shaft. The two angle members furthermore attach to a tackle box or similar equipment storage device and by virtue of their attachment to the seat and the tackle box provide a separating gap equal to both the triangulating member and the base shaft. In this manner the seat structure may be pivoted into a position where the angle members are disposed on either side of the support shaft or may be rotated from that position to engage a transverse pin in corresponding detents formed in the underside thereof.

  • Patent number: 4056209
Abstract: A child proof medication bottle including a female, interiorly threaded opening adapted for dispensing medication in pill form or similar use, provided with a male, externally threaded cap, inserted into the female opening. On insertion, the male cap or plug is received within the opening to a depth wherein only a hemispherical projection is exposed outside the confines of the bottle. This smooth hemispherical projection lacks the necessary grasping surfaces for withdrawal thereof and is thus rendered child proof. The bottom end of the bottle is similarly shaped in the form of a hemisphere adapted for receipt in the interior of the cylindrical key structure provided with a flat end for upright support and including two key elements insertable into corresponding slots formed in the hemispherical surface of the cap. Thus the cylindrical key structure may be utilized to open providing a reminder to the user to return the key to its stored position.

  • Patent number: 4050636
Abstract: An energy saving garbage disposal unit that is disposed under a tank and connected to the drain thereof in a conventional manner. Actuation of the unit is provided by pressurized water from a domestic source thereof. Pressurized water entering the unit serves a twofold purpose; first, driving a turbine to actuate a garbage masticating assembly, and second, after discharge from the turbine the water mixing with masticated garbage and serving to flush the latter down a waste line that extends from the unit. The unit masticates garbage to particles of a predetermined size prior to discharging the particles to the waste line, with the possibility of the waste line becomming clogged or stopped up by garbage particles of substantial size being reduced to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 4043036
Abstract: A power driven shaver of the type that includes a housing that has a prime mover therein, with one end of the housing supporting a transverse thin curved shield. The shield has a number of longitudinally and circumferentially spaced slots therein that are of such dimension that whiskers may extend therethrough. A number of helical shaped blades are rotated by the prime mover in close proximity to the interior surface of the shield, with the blades serving to sever inwardly projecting portions of the whisker by a rotating slicing action. The present power driven shaver is free of vibration, and exerts no uncomfortable pulling action on whiskers as they are severed, or the whiskers as they are cut are not compressed or pinched.

  • Patent number: 3965824
Abstract: A mechanism for moving one or more first load supporting hangers through a predetermined path that is defined by the interior of a hollow longitudinally slotted first frame. Each hanger is rotatably supported from a first ball that is movably supported within the first frame. The interior of the first frame not filled with first balls is filled with second balls. A first wheel that has pairs of spaced lobes on the circumference thereof projects through an opening in the first frame, with the pairs of lobes sequentially engaging the balls when the first wheels is rotated. The first and second balls and the hangers supported from the first balls are moved longitudinally in the first frame as such sequential engagement of the balls takes place. Should it be desired to move a platform having first and second ends through said predetermined path, the first end is connected to the first hanger, and the second end to a second hanger.
