  • Publication number: 20250153059
Abstract: An amusement ride comprises a pair of swinging arms, each supporting a support element that includes a plurality of seats to accommodate riders. The arms may share a rotation axis and are rotatable with respect to one another. The arms may each be coupled to a rotatable vertical tower. The support elements at the ends of the respective arms each oscillate by swinging about a pivot axis, due to the swinging motion of the arms. A control system controls the swinging of the arms such that the supporting elements oscillate at a resonance frequency.

  • Publication number: 20250153056
Abstract: An amusement ride comprises at least one sensing system adapted to control motion of the amusement ride responsive to a non-tactile input from at least one rider. The non-tactile input comprises body motion of at least one rider. The body movement may be of the rider's arms, such as flapping of the rider's arms. The amusement ride includes at least one vehicle adapted to receive the rider. The vehicle may be a gondola suspended from an overhead rotatable retaining member and the motion of the amusement ride may be raising and lowering the gondola responsive to the rider's body motion.

  • Publication number: 20240382867
Abstract: A cold trap is designed to receive an incoming gas mixture and selectively deposit a chemical species on internal walls of the cold trap and exhausting undesired contaminant species from the cold trap. The cold trap includes a thermal control system designed to maintain a deposition temperature on the internal walls to achieve freeze distillation of the chemical species. The cold trap also includes an inlet and/or outlet configured to maintain a pressure in the cold trap to achieve selective deposition of the chemical species into a solid phase without condensing or depositing other chemical species. The thermal control system maintains isothermal conditions on the internal walls while rejecting heat generated in the cold trap to a cold environment outside of the cold trap. In some implementations, the selectively deposited chemical species is water and the cold environment is a lunar environment.

  • Publication number: 20240285885
Abstract: This disclosure provides an oxygen delivery and reclamation system that supplies breathable oxygen-enriched gas to one or more users in a chamber. The one or more users receive oxygen at specified oxygen level setpoints. Exhalation air from the one or more users may be purged from the breathing loop using one or both of a recycle pump and an electronically actuated valve. Exhalation air in a purge line and optionally chamber air pulled from the chamber may be recycled using an oxygen concentrator. The oxygen concentrator generates oxygen-enriched gas and oxygen-depleted gas, where the oxygen-enriched gas may be delivered back to one or more users in the chamber.

  • Patent number: 11911567
Abstract: An airflow switching valve allowing a single ventilator to sequentially ventilate multiple patients, each patient being ventilated through a respiratory cycle. The airflow switching valve includes an outer housing, an inner housing, and a spring. Each of the outer and inner housings have a plurality of apertures that, when aligned in different positions, direct airflow to different patients. The inner housing rotates within the outer housing into different positions. The rotational movement is guided by a track of the outer housing. Extensions on the inner housing engage the track of the outer housing and translate along the track, thereby directing the movement of the inner housing between varying positions. Movement of the inner housing is initiated by either a spring force caused by the spring of the airflow switching valve or by air pressure caused by an inspiratory breath flowing into the airflow switching valve from the ventilator.

  • Publication number: 20210402311
Abstract: Amusement device (1) comprising: a central shaft (2) comprising a base structure (2a); a plurality of arms (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d), coupled to said central shaft (2), each of said arms (3a-3d) being rotatable around a relevant arm axis (A2), provided with one or more vehicles (6) having seats for users of said amusement device (1); a gear system (7) for rotating said plurality of arms (3a-3d). The gear system (7) comprises a gear motor (M) coupled to a first gear (71), to rotate said first gear (71) and a plurality of second gears (72a, 72b, 72c, 72d), one for each arm (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) of said plurality of arm, coupled to said first gear (71) so that rotation of the first gear (71) drives in rotation said second gears (72a-72d), the rotation of said second gears (72a-72d) causing rotation of each arm (3a-3d) around the relevant arm axis. The gear system (7) is configured so that the angular speed of said arms (3a-3d) is substantially identical for all the arms.
