  • Publication number: 20090030896
Abstract: A system and method for processing an electronic query that includes defining a set of rules accessible to an inference engine and wherein the set of rules are configured for (a) parsing the query into one or more subsequent-queries; and (b) determining whether additional information is necessary to answer each subsequent-query and, if so, (i) accessing a registry containing descriptions of one or more data resources, (ii) analyzing the descriptions of the one or more data resources to locate information responsive to the subsequent-query; and then the system and method could apply the set of rules to the information, aggregate all of the information responsive to the query, and supply an answer to the query that is compliant with the set of rules.

  • Publication number: 20080301875
Abstract: A prone cart for carrying a patient has a frame, a pair of independently powered and suspended drive wheels located centrally off the frame and an articuable body support having relatively moveable tray, chest support, abdominal support and leg support sections connected end to end for carrying a patient prone between a lowered position where the patient lies in a horizontal orientation to a raised position where the patient's head and chest are elevated with respect to the patient's abdomen and legs. Linkage mechanisms move the sections between the raised and lowered positions. A pair of independently suspended drive wheels mounted centrally of the frame is controllable so that each may each rotate independently in clockwise or counterclockwise sense so that the cart may be maneuvered in confined spaces with a zero turning radius.

  • Publication number: 20070294270
Abstract: A unified mechanism of scene description includes layering and cross-referencing relationships. The scene description specifies components using one or more layers. A layer includes an opinion of value for one or more attributes of one or more components. A layer can be sparsely populated with opinions of attribute values for only portions of components' attributes. Layers express opinions of value for an attribute using the semantic structure associated with the attribute. The scene description organizes layers in a layer hierarchy, which determines a layer stacking order. The layer stacking order specifies the compositing of opinions of attribute values to determine the complete authored state of the component. The layer stacking order enables attributes of components to be selectively overridden without disturbing other attribute values. Cross-referencing relationships enable encapsulation and reuse of components. Cross-referencing relationships can encapsulate components defined by one or more layers.

  • Publication number: 20070079899
Abstract: A debarking chain having passing links; the passing links being substantially rounded in order to permit the passing links to pass through adjacent links such that the orientation of the passing link relative to its adjacent links can change at random in order to randomly distribute the wear and stress from the impact of adjacent or next to adjacent links on the passing links so that the overall wear life of the present debarking chain is extended over similar chain with elongated, oblong links of the prior art. The invention also includes a debarking drum having a plurality of debarking chains having at least one, preferably a plurality of passing links, as well as a debarking device having such a debarking drum. The debarking device preferably includes a chipping device and a method of using the same.

  • Publication number: 20070056077
Abstract: The disclosure describes vapor permeable retroreflective material for use on protective garments. The material may be formed in a non-continuous pattern that provides a high-level of retroreflective brightness, yet also provides adequate permeability to prevent exposure to trapped thermal energy and heated moisture. The non-continuous retroreflective pattern may include retroreflective regions and non-retroreflective regions arranged such that thermal decay through the protective garment is not substantially decreased in the regions corresponding to the retroreflective material. Rather, vapor permeation and thermal decay through the garment may be substantially the same as if the retroreflective material was not present.

  • Patent number: 7187718
Abstract: A system and a method for the transmission and reception of digital data wirelessly using acoustic tones comprises an encoder, a data interleaving system, an error correction system, and a decoder. • Patent number: 7139567
Abstract: This disclosure presents a communication receiver system for spacecraft that includes an open loop receiver adapted to receive a communication signal. An ultrastable oscillator (USO) and a tone detector are connected to the open loop receiver. The open loop receiver translates the communication signal to an intermediate frequency signal using a highly stable reference frequency from the USO. The tone detector extracts commands from the communication signal by evaluating the difference between tones of the communication signal.

  • Publication number: 20060230936
Abstract: A process and apparatus for cleaning filter cake from the interior of a baghouse bag. A nozzle through which compressed gas flows is positioned on the interior of a bag such that gas is directed to, and thereby disrupts, the filter cake. The compressed gas flows in the same direction as a gas that is being filtered by the baghouse, thereby avoiding the effects of reverse-flow cleaning.

  • Patent number: 7113430
Abstract: A device for reducing the effects of leakage current within electronic devices is disclosed. In one form, a high voltage driver includes a high voltage source coupled to at least one high voltage transistor and a leakage offset module coupled to at least a portion of one of the high voltage transistors. The leakage offset module includes a diode connected MOS device operable to generate an offset voltage and an MOS shunting device coupled in a parallel with the diode connected MOS device. During operation, the diode connected MOS device generates an offset voltage based on a sub-threshold leakage associated with using the high voltage source and the MOS shorting device is operable to short the diode connected MOS device when sub-threshold leakage current is relatively low.

  • Publication number: 20050215242
Abstract: A method of forwarding calls directed to a cellular phone to a target phone number based on time-based trigger events. A call forward profile associated with the cellular phone is defined, wherein the profile has associated therewith a window of time for forwarding calls and the target phone number. The call forward profile is stored in memory in the cellular phone and the cellular phone periodically determines when it is within the window of time of a call forward profile. If so, the cellular phone notifies the cellular provider associated with cellular phone to forward later-received calls to the target number using the cellular provider's own activation and deactivation codes. Notification by the cellular phone to the cellular provider may be set to automatic or only after a prompt to the cellular phone user.

  • Publication number: 20050215243
Abstract: A method of forwarding calls directed to a cellular phone to a target phone number based on time-based and location-based trigger events. A call forward profile associated with the cellular phone is defined and stored in memory in the cellular phone, wherein the profile includes call forward criteria and the target phone number. Call forward criteria includes time-based and location-based trigger events. Thereafter, the cellular phone periodically determines the current time and its location and, if the cellular phone determines that the time-based and location-based trigger events for a particular profile are both satisfied, the cellular phone notifies the cellular provider associated with the phone to forward later-received calls to the target number using the cellular provider's own activation and deactivation codes. Notification by the cellular phone to the cellular provider may be set to automatic or only after a prompt to the cellular phone user.

  • Patent number: 6901610
Abstract: A flush valve assembly includes a valve body with a first cylindrical tube member and a flush cover member that is coaxially and slidably mounted with respect to the valve body so as to create a valve opening therebetween when the flush cover member is removed from the valve body. A guiding means is provided that includes a second cylindrical tube member secured to the flush cover member and slidably fitted over the first cylindrical tube member. The guiding means further includes at least one alignment tab on the flush cover member that engages a corresponding tab recess defined in the valve body. A secondary float assembly pivotably affixed to the valve body has a flotation cup with a resilient member integral therewith. A pawl member includes retention members in combination with each of a primary finger and a secondary finger that engage an integral tab portion along an outside peripheral surface of the flush cover member during reciprocating movement of the flush cover member.
