  • Publication number: 20240123369
Abstract: An apparatus and system for producing fresh water from moisture-laden air. The apparatus has a frame supporting a plurality of condensation panels that each have a panel body defining a pair of condensation surfaces that will contact the moisture-laden air. A panel support mechanism supports each of the condensation panels in spaced apart relation to each other so each condensation surface contacts moisture-laden air. A flow channel inside the panel body defines a flow path for a cooling fluid that cools the condensation surfaces so the moisture-laden air will produce condensate thereon that collects as fresh water. The system includes a plurality of apparatuses, a chilling mechanism to cool the cooled fluid, inlet and discharge lines connecting the chilling mechanism and apparatuses, pumps to pressurize the cooled fluid, fans to move the moisture-laden air and water collecting surfaces to collect the fresh water.

  • Publication number: 20230193691
Abstract: As described herein, a motorized window treatment may be configured to synchronize its covering material with other motorized window treatments if movement of the covering material has been delayed. The motor drive unit may receive a message including a command via wireless signals, and rotate a roller tube to adjust a present position of the covering material at an increased rate in response to determining that adjustment of the covering material in response to the command is delayed. The control circuit may determine a delay time between when the other motorized window treatments began to move and when the motor drive unit begins to move in response to the command. The control circuit may begin adjusting the present position of the covering material at a nominal rate in response to determining that the covering material is synchronized with the other motorized window treatments using the determined delay time.

  • Publication number: 20100284791
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for preventing foreign objects from being ingested into the air intake of a jet engine. Apparatuses can have a mount with an opening for fluid communication with an air intake of the engine, a generally pyramidal shaped tip, and at a generally frusto-pyramidal shaped shield between the tip and the mount. The tip and the shield can be generally conical, generally polygonal, generally elliptical, or generally lunal. A proximal end of the tip can overlap and attach to a distal end of the shield and a proximal end of the shield can overlap and attach to a distal end of the mount. The exposed lateral surface of the tip and/or the shield can be solid without openings therein. Systems can include a nacelle provided around a portion of the jet engine and a plurality of overlapping generally frusto-pyramidal guards attached to each other and the nacelle with a plurality of gussets.

  • Patent number: 6955259
Abstract: Syringe storage devices safely secure a syringe during ambulance treatment and transport of patients. A base has a plurality of mounting holes in its opposing sides and a plurality of adhesive tabs on its back to facilitate its attachment to an interior wall or cabinet of an ambulance. The front of the base has a plurality of clips and a shelf attached to it. Needle holes are present in the middle of the shelf beneath each clip. The needle holes and clips are adapted to receive and removably secure the needle cover and syringe body of a syringe. A portion of the front of the base beneath the shelf comprises a dry erase board where a user can use a dry erase pen to create a syringe label identifying the contents of the syringe removably stored above it.

  • Patent number: 5162198
Abstract: Treating human beings with pharmacological quantities of DHEA results in their blood having increased serum DHEA and DHEA-S and lower rates of platelet aggregation. Reducing the rate of platelet aggregation can significantly reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality from vascular events such as myocardial infarction and stroke, as well as reduce the occurrence of restenosis following vascular interventions. The concentration of DHEA and DHEA-S in the blood and the pre-incubation time of DHEA and DHEA-S with the blood will affect its impact on platelet aggregation. Hence, prior treatment of patients who are at risk with DHEA may produce the most beneficial affects. In addition, treatment of blood with DHEA-S reduces thromboxane production. Thromboxane is produced after platelets are subjected to many different types of agonists and is responsible for recruiting other platelets to aggregate and form a thrombus; therefore, blocking the production of thromboxane will reduce or prevent platelet aggregation.
