  • Patent number: 10546227
Abstract: TPO and PVC building membranes are disclosed that comprise RFID tags that are capable of storing identifying information. The RFID tags may be embedded in the membranes. By appropriate positioning of the RFID tags in the core layer of the TPO and PVC membranes, the properties of the membranes such as waterproofness and strength are not degraded by the presence of the tags and the functionality of the tags is not compromised by the manufacturing process. A method of manufacturing the membranes is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2018
Date of Patent: January 28, 2020
    Assignee: Building Materials Investment Corporation
Inventors: Robert John Marciello, Daniel Podewils, Thomas Lee Ashby

  • Publication number: 20180330219
Abstract: Polyisocyanurate boards are disclosed that comprise an RFID tag that is capable of storing identifying information. The RFID tags may be embedded in the polyisocyanurate foam. By appropriate positioning of the embedded RFID tags in the boards, non-specialized RFID tags can be used without the tags being damaged by the heat and dynamic forces encountered during manufacturing. A method of manufacturing the boards is also disclosed.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 11, 2018
    Publication date: November 15, 2018
Inventors: Robert John Marciello, Igor Alovert, Christopher Solarczyk, Anthony Joseph Cipiti, JR.
