  • Patent number: 4880149
Abstract: A liquid metering unit comprising a conduit of flexible material depending between first and second rotatable rollers, each having first and second curved surfaces and first and second flat portions. The rollers are driven in opposite directions so that their first curved surfaces impinge upon the conduit, constricting it and causing it to move upwards along its longitudinal axis such that any liquid contained therein is expelled from its lower end. Continued rotation of the rollers presents the second flat portions to the conduit, which is released and drops back to its original position. The conduit is recharged with liquid from a reservoir connected to its upper end by means of a vacuum source selectively connectable to its lower end.

  • Patent number: 4215796
Abstract: A container type structure for providing a radio frequency shield is described having an integral latching means for securing a cover on the container, which latching means can readily be operated to allow the cover to be removed. The latching means are formed from a tongue-like member extending substantially parallel of the surfaces of the side walls of the container and resiliently biased in a direction for engagement with appropriate apertures or receptacles on the cover. Slots are provided through which the latch can be manipulated to allow ready removal of the cover.

  • Patent number: 3941849
Abstract: Hydroxy terminated polyethers are obtained by reacting (1) epoxide and oxetane monomers with (2) a telogen at least partially soluble with the monomers, reactive with said monomers and being selected from the group consisting of phenols (3) in admixture therewith as catalysts certain double metal cyanide complexes which preferably had been treated with organic materials like alcohols, ethers, esters and so forth. A feature of the process of the present invention is the preparation of high molecular weight diols, triols, etc. without appreciable end group unsaturation, and the use of certain solvents with particular monomers and catalysts to also achieve these results. The products of the present process are useful as nonionic surface active agents, as lubricants and coolants, as textile sizes, as films for packaging and in the preparation of solid or flexible polyurethanes by reaction with polyisocyanates.
