  • Patent number: 11767649
Abstract: A traffic control marker having a base with a bottom surface suitable for attachment to a road surface using mechanical fasteners and/or adhesive. A top surface of the base includes rounded edges, and a bottom surface with an inset groove pattern. A flexible outer tube is engaged over an inner tube, where both tubes have a circular cross-sectional configuration. The telescoping tubes are captured within a clamping assembly that is securely and mechanically engaged within a support cavity formed in the base. The base with the support cavity enables enhanced attachment to the road surface, as well as improved drainage through the traffic control marker. The interconnection of the base, tubes and clamping assembly enables the tubes to breakaway from the base after numerous vehicle impacts, and to resist removal of the base from the road surface.

  • Patent number: 11619015
Abstract: A traffic control marker is provided and described herein. The traffic control marker can be configured with a main marker body that is flexible and durable, the main marker body can be further configured with a reflective element that covers at least a portion of the main marker body. The main marker body can further be configured with an indentation or a channel that extends a portion of or alternatively the length of the main marker body. The reflective element is configured to be protected during a vehicle impact with the traffic control marker, such that at least a portion of the reflective element remains effective and reflective after the impact.

  • Patent number: 10380358
Abstract: Techniques are described for communicating encoded data using start code emulation prevention. The described techniques include obtaining at least one partially encrypted packet, identifying at least one portion of the packet that is unencrypted, and determining that the identified unencrypted portion(s) emulates a start code. Start code emulation prevention data or emulation prevention bytes (EPBs) may be inserted into only the encrypted portion of the packet. The modified packet may be communicated to another device/storage, along with an indication of which portion(s) of the packet are unencrypted. Upon receiving the packet and indication, the receiving device may identify and remove the EPBs in the identified unencrypted portion(s) of the packet, and decrypt the packet to recover the data. In some aspects, upon identifying the indication, the receiving device may only search for EPBs in the unencrypted portion(s) of the packet, thus yielding a more efficient start code emulation prevention process.

  • Patent number: 9974383
Abstract: Embodiments provide a cosmetic brush cleaning system and method which spins a brush and provides centrifugal force at varying speeds to clean the brush head. The brush can be used for the application of makeup and the brush can either slide into an attachment which is then connected via a magnetic coupling mechanism to secure the brush before it is spun and cleaned, or the brush itself can be provided with the magnetic coupling component inherently in the brush. The operator of the device determines the speed that is necessary based upon the type of liquid the brush has been in contact with and the operator uses a controller to speed up or slow down the rotational mechanism. The centrifugal force removes the material sticking to the brush while it is cleaned.

  • Patent number: 9002881
Abstract: Assembling streamed content for on-demand presentation is described. In embodiments, a media asset can be requested from a content distributor, and cacheable segments of the media asset are streamed to the requesting client device. The cacheable segments are received in an initial quality display format for uninterrupted playback of the media asset at the client device while the cacheable segments are being received. An asset matrix that correlates a bit rate and a time position for each cacheable segment in the media asset is also received. The cacheable segments of the media asset can be assembled according to the asset matrix to generate an assembled asset data file of the media asset. The assembled asset data file can then be back-filled with selected ones of the cacheable segments that are replaced with a highest quality display format for on-demand presentation of the media asset when selected for viewing.

  • Patent number: 8856122
Abstract: Defining a content package having media files and table of contents (TOC) data. The content package includes physical representation data and logical representation data for the media files (e.g., stored in the TOC data). Computing devices store, download, and play back the media files based on the data in the content package. Presentations (e.g., collections of files) within the content package are available for extraction based on a configuration of a media player. The media files are provided for presentation to a user of the computing device, or for storage by the computing device.

  • Patent number: 8799757
Abstract: An interactive multimedia presentation has a predetermined presentation play duration, a video content component (which may include video, audio, data, or any combination thereof), and an interactive content component. Methods and systems for playing the presentation include specifying a time when a particular media object is renderable. The time is specifiable using an application instruction that references either a first timing signal having a rate that is based on the play speed of the presentation, or a second timing signal having a continuous rate. One example of an application instruction usable as described above is an element associated with an XML data structure. An attribute of the element, such as the clock attribute, may be used to provide time values for the element that reference either timing signal. The attribute is used to maintain frame-accurate synchronization between the video and the interactive content components of the presentation.

  • Patent number: 8734047
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a traffic control marker having a mesh base and an improved inner core. In accordance with various embodiments, there is provided a traffic control assembly, which includes a base selectively mountable adjacent a roadway, the base comprising a plurality of through holes, and a flexible tubular member connected to the base. The traffic control assembly further includes a flange selectively mountable below the base. The flange includes a plurality of through holes spaced around a portion of the circumference of the flange. Further, the traffic control assembly includes an adhesive material applied to an underside of the base and the flange to secure the traffic control assembly to the roadway. The adhesive material fills the plurality of through holes in the base and in the flange, when the traffic control assembly is mounted to the roadway.
