  • Publication number: 20210357846
Abstract: The invention resides in a method for maintaining a measuring location (ML1, ML2, ML3) in an automated plant (A), wherein capability information (CI) of persons (P1, P2 P3) are registered and stored in a service platform (SP), wherein the capability information (CI) includes information concerning objects brought along by the person (P1, P2, P3), health of the person (P1, P2, P3) and/or safety equipment worn by the person (P1, P2, P3), comprising: noting a case of service or maintenance of the measuring location (ML1, ML2, ML3); creating a service or maintenance order (SO), which includes objects required for caring for the case of service or maintenance, health requirements and/or requirements regarding safety equipment; calculating a degree of suitability of persons (P1, P2, P3) stored in the service platform (SP) upon noting a case of service or maintenance for the measuring location (ML1, ML2, ML3), wherein the degree of suitability provides a measure of agreement of capability information (CI) for per

  • Publication number: 20210325863
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for monitoring an automated plant including a plurality of field devices and a plurality of other plant components, wherein the field devices generate data and communicate with one another and with a superordinated unit via a communication network, comprising: continuously registering production data from the plant, wherein the production data represents quantities of produced products versus defined time intervals; calculating individual loading data for each plant component and field device, wherein the loading data represents a degree of loading for each plant component and field device per produced product; continuously summing the degree of loading for each plant component and field device based on the registered production data and based on the loading data; and creating a warning notification when the degree of loading of a field device or a plant component exceeds a threshold individually defined for each, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20060140209
Abstract: An apparatus and method for allowing at least one second device configured to use a second communication protocol to communicate with at least one first field device configured to use a first communication protocol. The apparatus including a first network communication arrangement configured to communicate with the at least one first field device using the first communication protocol, a second network communication arrangement configured to communicate with the at least one second device using the second communication protocol, and a device emulation processing arrangement configured to emulate the at least one first field device such that the at least one second device may communicate with the emulated at least one first field device using a third communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 6516364
Abstract: In a method for time coordination of the transmission of cyclic data values on a bus to which data transmitters and data receivers are connected, each data transmitter is assigned a cycle time in which it periodically transmits its data values, wherein the cycle times are integer multiples of a minimum cycle time. Furthermore, each data value is assigned a delay time related to the start of the cycle time of its data transmitter. A synchronization message is transmitted via the bus to each data transmitter with a period corresponding to the cycle time of the respective data transmitter and has a phase which is specific for the data transmitter with respect to the start of the minimum cycle time. The reception of its synchronization message in each data transmitter initiates the transmission of its data values with the respective delay time.

  • Patent number: 6216172
Abstract: For automatic CAN address allocation each bus subscriber still to be allocated an address, generates a random value for a provisional address on system power up. On receiving a request to commence address allocation each bus subscriber writes a telegram claiming the provisional address into the CAN send buffer. If a bus subscriber receives a telegram claiming an address which agrees with its own provisional address, a new random value is generated for a provisional address and a telegram claiming this provisional address is written into the CAN send buffer. If the telegram claiming the provisional address is sent before a telegram claiming the same provisional address is received, the provisional address is deposited in the writeable non-volatile memory as the final address.
