  • Patent number: 4357808
Abstract: An ice making machine of the type comprising a plurality of ice forming molds into which water is directed by means of a rotating spray bar supplied with water from an associated water sump or reservoir; the spray is mounted for 360.degree. rotation about a generally horizontal axis and includes a plurality of spray nozzles which operate to not only spray water toward the ice forming molds but also toward the water reservoir to provide agitation of the make-up water contained therein so as to prevent settling of any sediment or other impurities within the make-up water.

  • Patent number: 4318278
Abstract: A high capacity ice making machine comprising a plurality of ice producing mechanisms, each of which is provided with a plurality of ice forming molds or cups having a rotatable water spray bar located therebelow for communicating make-up water from a water sump toward the molds during a freezing cycle. The ice producing mechanisms are arranged in two tandem pairs and communicate ice produced during the freezing cycle into a common ice storage bin located therebelow. The refrigeration systems associated with each of the ice producing mechanisms employ a common refrigerant condenser which is mounted by means of a hinge arrangement whereby to permit movement of the condenser between a normally closed position and an open position to provide access to the interior of the ice making machine for purposes of inspection, maintenance and the like.

  • Patent number: 4006605
Abstract: An ice making machine comprising a refrigeration system for supplying refrigerant to an evaporator assembly associated with a plurality of inverted ice forming molds or cups having a water spray bar located therebelow; ice formed in the cups is delivered to a bin mounted on a pivotable door structure which is selectively removable in order to provide for access to the ice producing equipment and refrigeration system for purposes of service, repair, cleaning and the like; the plurality of cups being mounted in a plastic platen which is cooperable with the evaporator assembly of the refrigeration system; a control system is provided for selectively energizing the condenser fan motor and for actuating a water pump to supply water to the ice in the inverted cups during the harvest cycle, whereby to maintain the refrigerant pressure at a desired level and accelerate the harvest cycle.
