  • Patent number: 10113486
Abstract: A method of transferring a fluid flow from a static component to a rotor of a gas turbine engine and a modulated flow transfer system are provided. The modulated flow transfer system includes an annular inducer configured to accelerate the fluid flow in a substantially circumferential direction in a direction of rotation of the rotor. The system further includes a first fluid flow supply including a compressor bleed connection, a feed manifold formed of bendable tubing, and a feed header extending between the compressor bleed connection and the feed manifold. The feed header includes a modulating valve configured to control an amount of fluid flow into the feed manifold. The system also includes a flow supply tube that extends between the feed manifold and the inducer and is couplable to at least one of the plurality of first fluid flow inlet openings through a sliding piston seal.

  • Publication number: 20180253846
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manipulation of a respiratory model via adjustment of parameters associated with model images is described. A subset of the images that are used with the model that is associated with the position and motion of a targeted region of the patient to receive radiation treatment may be identified. The subset of images may be sorted. A graphical user interface (GUI) that identifies two or more of the images of the sorted subset may be provided. A selection associated with one of the images of the sorted subset may be received by the GUI. Furthermore, a new model to identify the targeted region based on the selection that is associated with one of the two or more images may be generated.

  • Publication number: 20180143642
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an autonomous vehicle with an emergency escape mode. When fleeing a scene is critical, embodiments provide an AV that can operate in an emergency escape mode (EEM) to enable the AV to flee a scene, protecting its occupants. Typically, a passenger or operator invokes EEM in an AV when they are in imminent danger from criminal activity such as carjacking. A least resistance route can be computed to determine an escape route that provides for reduced chance of injury and/or increased probability of a successful escape.

  • Patent number: 9976746
Abstract: A combustor assembly for a gas turbine engine is provided. The combustor assembly generally includes an annular dome and a liner. The liner at least partially defines a combustion chamber and includes the forward end received within a slot defined by the annular dome. Additionally, a heat shield is provided. The heat shield includes an end also received within the slot defined by the annular dome. A mounting assembly attaches the forward end of the liner and the end of the heat shield to the annular dome, such that the forward end of the liner and the end of the heat shield are co-mounted within the slot defined by the annular dome.

  • Patent number: 8046364
Abstract: A method and system for analyzing a patent disclosure is disclosed. The method and system comprise a disclosure analysis and a separate claims analysis, such that each analysis may be performed independently. Missing and incorrect reference labels are identified within the disclosure. Antecedent basis and specification support are checked for the claim elements. Terms within the specification that do not have a reference number, but may require one, are identified, provided that they fit the profile of one of a set of particular lexical patterns.

  • Publication number: 20070073732
Abstract: Tasks can be done on a network of multiple computers interconnected by communication links. At each of the computers, Knowbot programs may be received and transmitted on the communication links, and may be stored and created; and execution of the tasks associated with the Knowbot programs may be advanced. Each Knowbot program includes a globally unique identifier; navigation information defining a route through the network; and information concerning a task to be done. Knowbot programs may interact with each other and with other network resources. Authenticated Knowbot service stations and Couriers may be used to protect data as well as control its application in the network environment according to stated terms and conditions.

  • Publication number: 20060136923
Abstract: A method for use in a distributed system for processing a knowbot program that has the ability to move from node to node in the distributed system. In the method, an operating environment in each of the nodes provides service facilities useful to the knowbot program. And,.in the operating environment, a supervisor process is run that enables the knowbot program to make use of the service facilities but does not permit direct access by the knowbot program to facilities of the operating environment.
