  • Publication number: 20060174080
Abstract: A method is disclosed to selectively provide information to one or more remote computing devices. The method provides an information storage and retrieval system comprising first information, a first logical partition, and a second logical partition, where the first information is disposed in the first logical partition. The method further provides a data extraction algorithm, forms second information comprising an instantaneous point-in-time copy of the first information, and forms third information from the second information using the data extraction algorithm. The method then migrates the third information from the first logical partition to the second logical partition, and provides access rights to that third information to one or more computing devices capable of communicating with the information storage and retrieval system.

  • Patent number: 7039585
Abstract: A system and method for searching recorded speech is disclosed. The system and method comprises converting the recorded speech into text using a voice recognition system. As the speech is being converted, naturally occurring breaks in the languages will be used to take time indexes from the recording. The system and method includes creating a full text index of the recorded speech utilizing an information extender. The full text index contains a plurality of time stamps that point to the occurrence of words in the recorded speech. Finally, the text is searched by a full text search server that has linguistic search capabilities using the full text index. Finally, the searched text, the text index and the recorded speech are stored in the database. The recorded speech is searched by locating relevant phrases or words, and then mapping the time stamps associated with the relevant phrases words back to the recorded speech in the database.

  • Patent number: 6546346
Abstract: A method for detecting the resonance frequency of an electrical oscillation circuit, in particular that of a starter oscillation circuit for high-pressure gas discharge lamps, is described in which the oscillation circuit is excited with various frequencies. The frequency search is undertaken in a search run with individual search attempts. A specific, fixed frequency is used for the sampling tests. Each fixed frequency is selected and used according to a specific search pattern. In the search pattern, the first sampling test is carried out with the mean frequency, which is the mean between the minimum and maximum possible resonance frequencies. In each of the subsequent sampling tests, the test frequency is modified in steps. The resonance frequency found in a search run can be stored as a learning frequency for use as a starting frequency for subsequent search runs and updated as necessary.
