Inventors: Robert Knoll, Brian Muehl, Michael Stecker
  • Publication number: 20080113060
Abstract: A multilayer plastic container comprises a layer of a polypropylene and an intermediate layer directly adjacent the layer of polypropylene wherein at least one of the polypropylene and intermediate layers comprises an adhesive such as maleic anhydride incorporated therein to adhere the layer of polypropylene to the layer of EVOH.
    Type: Application
    Filed: January 11, 2008
    Publication date: May 15, 2008

  • Publication number: 20070160788
Abstract: A multilayer container having a structural layer of a mixture of a high density polyethylene and a linear low density maleic anhydride modified polyethylene (LLDPE maleic anhydride), preferably in an amount of about 0.01 to about 0.20 percent by weight. The multilayer container has an oxygen barrier layer disposed adjacent the outer structural layer. In a preferred embodiment, the oxygen barrier layer includes EVOH. The LLDPE maleic anhydride facilitates bonding of the structural layer to the oxygen barrier layer.
