  • Patent number: 10811856
Abstract: A system for servicing cable includes a plurality of jaws operable between an open position for receiving a cable in a direction transverse to a cable axis such that the cable extends axially beyond the jaws in two directions, and a closed position for engaging and rotationally fixing the cable about the cable axis. A tool arrangement is disposed proximate to the base and includes at least one tool operable to perform work on the cable when the cable is engaged by the jaws. • Patent number: 10712391
Abstract: A modular device is used to inspect a confined space in a machine. The entire inspection coverage area and corresponding status are mapped so that the inspection location and associated data are graphically visualized. An accelerometer mounted on the device serves as a tilt sensor and also provides data about a collision of the device with the space being inspected or defects therein. The accelerometer data in combination with an odometry system determines the axial position of the device. A gyroscope mounted on the device is used to determine the device heading. The locational information is used to generate an inspection map that provides inspection history, logged data and a reference that are useful in scheduling the next inspection. The output of the gyroscopes can be used to provide haptic feedback to the device operator to maintain proper device orientation.

  • Patent number: 9714852
Abstract: A gas flow test apparatus and method include a flow monitor that is selectively connectable to a gas pipeline. An air motor driven regenerative blower is used to increase the flow of gas through the around a blockage in the pipeline to simulate an increased gas loading condition on the intake side of the apparatus. The gas drawn from the intake side is not vented to the atmosphere, but rather, is discharged to the exhaust side of the apparatus back into the pipeline. Pipeline pressure is measured on the intake side of the apparatus to ensure that gas supply is adequate for blocking off the pipeline for maintenance.

  • Publication number: 20150233787
Abstract: A device for installing a modular crawler into an air gap of rotating electrical machinery and removing the crawler from the air gap has a reconfigurable handle attached to a curved head made from metallic material. The crawler is magnetically attached to the curved head when it is desired to insert the crawler into the air gap or remove the crawler from the air gap. The head can be rolled in the field into the curvature needed to match the stator's inner surface so that the installation device can easily be inserted in the air gap. The handle has several joints that can be adjusted in the field as needed for the best reachability. A camera is mounted on the curved head so that an operator can see the interface region between the curved head, crawler and air gap.

  • Patent number: 4453675
Abstract: An aerial dispensing apparatus is detachably mounted under each wing of an aircraft for adhesively coating and dispensing flakes containing an insect control substance. The apparatus includes an aerodynamically styled liquid adhesive supply chamber secured to the forward end of a detachable support frame and a flake storage container movably supported on the rear portion of the frame for movement rearwardly of the trailing edge of the wing to facilitate filling of the container. The container is provided with a bottom opening which communicates with an electrically driven auger for metering a supply of flakes to a mixing chamber. An electrically driven pump supplies a metered amount of liquid adhesive to the mixing chamber. A propeller driven mixing blade is rotatably mounted in the mixing chamber to facilitate the coating of the individual flakes with adhesive and for impelling the flakes rearwardly through the open end of the mixing chamber.
