  • Patent number: 10949528
Abstract: A method for verifying a set of policy instructions to be used by a policy decision point (PDP) in adjudicating access requests to protected resources. The policy instructions are in the form of Horn clauses or conditional tag-expressions that are validated against a known test policy or desired outcome. The policy instructions are then compiled into aggregate form. When a plurality of policy instructions creates a conflict, the policy instructions are hierarchically organized to resolve said conflict.

  • Patent number: 10885182
Abstract: A system for controlling file access on a mobile computing device. Policy conditions are held at a policy decision point (PDP) and can be dynamically modified at run-time. Access requests to a file or set of files are intercepted by an agent that subsequently brokers the adjudication of said request via a secure, encrypted and hidden back-channel where the requestor is never allowed access to or knowledge of either the adjudication process or the parameters associated with adjudication. The PDP then returns either an access approval or denial based on said policy conditions.

  • Patent number: 9026938
Abstract: A method for presenting applications on a display screen, comprising: displaying a first presentation on the display screen, the first presentation including two or more icons; receiving a signal indicative of an icon, the icon being one of the two or more icons, the icon having an application associated therewith; initiating the application, the application having information associated therewith; generating a second presentation, the second presentation having a first area for presenting the information at least partially surrounded by a second area for presenting reduced-size versions of the two or more icons other than the icon; and, displaying the second presentation on the display screen to replace display of the first presentation.

  • Patent number: 7667699
Abstract: A method for generating a presentation of a region-of-interest in an information representation including the steps of: selecting a viewpoint for the region-of-interest; creating a lens surface for the region-of-interest; the lens surface having a focal region and a shoulder region surrounding the focal region; creating a transformed presentation by: determining boundaries in the representation for the focal region and the shoulder region; determining boundaries on the lens surface corresponding to the boundaries in the representation by applying a distortion function defining the lens surface to the boundaries in the representation; perspectively projecting the boundaries on the lens surface onto a plane spaced from the viewpoint; and, copying information in the representation lying within the boundaries in the representation onto the focal region and the shoulder region of the lens surface using respective focal region and shoulder region stretch bit-block transfer operations; and, displaying the transforme

  • Publication number: 20090024476
Abstract: A method for presenting advertisement images on a display screen, comprising: subdividing a map image into a plurality of geographic regions; associating a first advertisement image with a first region and a second advertisement image with a second region, the first and second regions being ones of the plurality of geographic regions; receiving a signal indicative of a region-of-interest, the region-of-interest being another of the plurality of geographic regions; selecting an advertisement image for the region-of-interest from among the first and second advertisement images; generating a presentation of the region-of-interest, the presentation including a view of the advertisement image; and, displaying the presentation on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 7256801
Abstract: A method for displaying visual information on a display screen of a computer, comprising the steps of scaling the visual information to produce a scaled representation to fit on the display screen the scaled representation containing the entire content of the visual information; selecting a region of interest within the scaled representation; applying a transformation to the scaled representation to improve the visual detail in the region of interest; and, displaying the transformed presentation on the display screen.
