  • Patent number: 6691482
Abstract: Decking including a profiled panel having a plurality of open-faced spaced ribs attached to a plurality of respective connecting sections. Each of the ribs defines a recessed area. A panel is received within each of the recessed areas and attached to the profiled panel defining a cavity. Each cavity is defined by at least a portion of the rib and the panel, respectively. The cavity is adapted to receive a tip of a fastener passing through the rib. The fastener is used to secure roofing material to an upper surface of the decking when used to form a roof.

  • Patent number: 6357191
Abstract: A ribbed metal plate for a composite slab that includes a substantially planar plate having an upper surface and a lower surface and a plurality of laterally-spaced, longitudinally-extending ribs that have a keystone profile and wherein the sidewalls are angled toward each other. Ends of the ribs are integrally formed. The rib plate is secured to bearing walls in a structure and concrete is poured on the ribs to form a composite deck. The ends of the ribs extend in the lateral direction to form a composite structure retarding movement of cured concrete in a longitudinal direction. The ribbed plate can also be used in composite beams.

  • Patent number: 5259157
Abstract: A panel assembly including a plurality of roof deck panels assembled in side-by-side relationship and secured to roof supports with each panel including a plurality of parallel and spaced apart perforated flat sections. Each flat section is separated from its adjacent flat section by a rib section, and has a width as measured in the plane of the flat section at least three times and preferably five times greater than the width of the rib section. Lengths of insulation are positioned between adjacent ribs and a wire mesh spacer is positioned within the space between each perforated flat section and the insulation to maintain the insulation in spaced relationship to the flat section. Insulation cover plates may also be included between adjacent ribs.

  • Patent number: 5172527
Abstract: An acoustical ceiling roof panel assembly including a plurality of roof deck panels assembled in side-by-side relationship and secured to roof supports with each panel including a plurality of parallel and spaced apart perforated flat sections. Each flat section is separated from its adjacent flat section by a rib section, and has a width at least three times and preferably five times greater than the width of the rib section as measured in the plane of the flat section. Lengths of insulation are positioned between adjacent ribs so as to substantially fill the space formed by the adjacent ribs and the flat section. A wire mesh spacer is positioned within the space between each perforated flat section and the insulation to maintain the insulation in spaced relationship to the flat section.

  • Patent number: 4454692
Abstract: A metal raceway structure for use in composite, concrete-metal construction including an elongated metal deck having alternating ribs and valleys. A sheet underlies the deck in order to define a plurality of cells. The metal deck has spaced first and second ribs of generally equal height and an interposed third rib of lesser height than the first and second ribs. The ribs may have a top wall and depending sidewalls. The first and second ribs have sidewall openings facing the third rib and the third rib has at least one top wall opening. This permits electrical wires passing through each of the three cells to emerge at a single location generally within the valley between the first and second ribs. A housing member is provided in overlying relationship with respect to the third rib and has openings permitting communication between the interior of the housing and the three cells.

  • Patent number: 3967426
Abstract: A composite slab assembly having an elongated metal deck provided with a number of longitudinally oriented upwardly directed integrally formed ribs and a concrete layer disposed on the metal deck with longitudinally oriented portions in complementary surface to surface engagement with the underlying metal deck. A transversely oriented integral reinforcing beam formed by a thickened portion of the concrete layer and having a lower extremity disposed below the level of the uppermost surfaces of the metal deck. The metal deck having at least one transversely directed discontinuity within which a portion of the transverse beam is received. Reinforcing rods may be provided in the integral reinforcing beam. The metal deck rib discontinuity may be partial and take the form of a number of longitudinally spaced notches generally aligned with similar notches in other ribs. The discontinuity may also be total with a complete transverse deck gap in the region of the beam.
