  • Patent number: 5133669
Abstract: A printed circuit board pin having a dielectric body and two or more conductor lines extending along the body, the conductor lines insulated from one another. In one construction, the body is planar with a planar conductor line on each of two opposite sides of the pin. This pin may be made by stamping from a laminate sheet of the dielectric material sandwiched between layers of conductor material. Three or more conductors upon a pin may be formed by plating techniques or possibly by extrusion.

  • Patent number: 4877041
Abstract: A cigarette substitute, for smoking cessation, comprises a card on one surface of which are formed one or more areas having an abrasive encapsulated aroma thereon. Abrasion, as by rubbing or scratching releases a tobacco smoke aroma. A combined menthol/tobacco smoke aroma can also be provided. Identification can be printed on one surface, usually not the surface having the aroma areas. Instructions for use and health advisory printing can be provided on the surface having the aroma areas. The card-like members preferably have dimensions such that a particular number have the same overall dimensions as a package of cigarettes.

  • Patent number: 4831728
Abstract: A circuit board pin with a compliant portion having two side-by-side beams joined together along one edge of each beam. At the join, the beams hinge relative to each other and opposing tapered surfaces of the beams diverge from the hinge. A convex continuously smooth surface extends around the beams to make the beams thicker as they extend away from the hinge. The compliant portion is made within a closed mold by displacing material into the shape of the mold cavity.

  • Patent number: 4660272
Abstract: In the manufacture of terminals, a stripe of precious metal is inlayed into a strip of metal from which terminals are formed. The precious metal is only required at the localities at which dimpled contact areas are to be formed. The invention provides for the removal of the inlay at spaced apart localities. A tool is moved laterally across the metal strip, the tool having one or more cutting edges. The cutting edges are inserted into the strip on one side of the stripe, traverses across, cutting the stripe, and then exits from the strip on the other side of the stripe. The tool returns to its original position.
