  • Patent number: 5295746
Abstract: A high resolution digital thermometer capable of measuring temperature differences on the order of several micro-degrees centigrade. The device includes a bridge circuit having two thermistors in series. An output of the bridge circuit feeds a signal to an analog-to-digital convertor via a high gain amplifier. A computer maintains the balance of the bridge circuit to avoid a situation wherein the range of the analog-to-digital convertor would be exceeded.

  • Patent number: 5201757
Abstract: An apparatus for deploying a radially self-expanding stent includes proximal and distal sleeves respectively containing proximal and distal end portions of the stent in a reduced radius delivery configuration. The sleeves can abut one another and thus contain the entire length of the stent, or may be used in combination with an outer catheter surrounding the sleeves and containing the medial region of the stent. In either event, once the stent and sleeves are positioned at the intended fixation site, the sleeves are moved axially with respect to one another to permit radial self-expansion of the stent only over its medial region, while the sleeves continue to contain the axially outward regions of the stent. Eventually, upon sufficient movement of the sleeves axially relative to one another, the stent becomes totally free of the sleeves, resulting in radial expansion over the entire stent length.

  • Patent number: 4970491
Abstract: A convenient, reliable, and economical low tire pressure alert system (10) for a vehicle provides a graphic display (14) of low tire conditions to a vehicle occupant. The preferred alert system includes a transmitter (12) coupled with a valve stem of each vehicle tire for sensing a respective low pressure condition of the tire and for producing and transmitting digitally encoded amplitude modulated wireless signals in response. The preferred alert system (10) also includes a plurality of indicators (16) as part of a graphic display (14) representative of the vehicle tires, and a receiver (18) coupled with the indicators (16) for selective actuation thereof in response to reception of the low tire pressure signals.

  • Patent number: 4005365
Abstract: A device including a voltage indicator circuit has the capability of indicating positive, neutral and negative voltages with respect to a reference voltage. Three indicator circuits are mounted on a single substrate. Each indicator circuit energizes a respective light emitting diode to indicate whether a voltage applied to a probe is positive, neutral or negative with respect to a reference voltage. The reference voltage is applied to a ground or reference terminal on the circuit. An alternating voltage is indicated by rendering effective all three light-emitting diodes. An open circuit can be ascertained by the absence of a positive signal from all the diodes.
