  • Publication number: 20240092500
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for receiving data related to a first flight risk factor and a second flight risk factor where the first and second risk factors include one of: a proficiency risk factor, an equipment risk factor, an environmental risk factor, or a performance risk factor. Applying a first weighting to the first flight risk factor to generate a first weighted flight risk factor, and applying a second weighting to the second flight risk factor to generate a second weighted flight risk factor. Assessing a flight risk level for a flight based on the first weighted flight risk factor and the second weighted flight risk factor. Providing data indicating the assessed flight risk level for the flight for display to a user.

  • Patent number: 5524722
Abstract: A skid steer loader is disclosed with an operator's seat that is movable between a lowered operative position and an elevated inoperative position to facilitate the access to drive components located beneath the seat. The seat includes a latch mechanism that detachably fixes the operator's seat to the loader frame and a prop rod slidable within a bayonet slot formed in the loader frame to move into a restraining position whenever the operator's seat is moved into the elevated inoperative position. The movement of the prop rod into the restraining position of the bayonet slot requires a positive movement of the prop rod out of the restraining position to enable the seat to be returned to the lowered operative position to be latched against the frame. The seat is hinged to the loader frame to allow the movement thereof between the operative and inoperative positions.

  • Patent number: 5437638
Abstract: A tip design for a multilumen catheter which includes a plurality of inflatable tubes each of which is attached to a lumen at the distal end of the multilumen catheter. The inflatable tubes are normally inverted in their respective lumens, but can be individually everted, inflated, deflated and retracted or inverted back into their lumen by the application of fluid pressure and vacuums at the proximal end of the multilumen catheter. In a procedure to open a constricted passageway one or more of the inflatable tubes can be inverted into the constriction and thereafter inflated to open the passageway. Thereafter, addition inflatable tubes can be inverted into the constriction and inflated to effect further opening of the passageway. In another embodiment, the inflatable tubes are provided with gripping surfaces and are manipulated by appropriate fluid pressures like fingers to grasp and recover target objects in a blocked passageway.

  • Patent number: 5346473
Abstract: A torpedo device which is attached to the end of a guide wire to provide a local driving force to the end thereof. The torpedo includes a telescopic structure having a combustion chamber therein. In operation, a combustible fuel is fed to the combustion chamber and an explosion is created by igniting the combustible fuel. Upon explosion, the torpedo expands axially to drive a projectile portion thorough an obstructed or constricted vessel lumen. Fins can be included on the exterior of the torpedo to prevent backward movement. The fins can also be used to scrape or cut an obstruction by engaging the obstruction and subsequently applying rearward movement to the torpedo.

  • Patent number: 4796622
Abstract: A catalytic thermal tip double catheter provides an alternative energy source for thermal angioplasty without the expense and technical support required for laser or electrical thermal angioplastic devices. The catalytic thermal tip catheter utilizes heat generated by the reactive of a stoichiometric ratio of oxygen and hydrogen gases catalyzed by a small piece of palladium sponge situated in a chamber adjacent to and enclosed by the metallic tip of the catheter, the vapors formed in the chamber generated being evacuated by a vacuum applied to an inner tube. Gas flow regulates catalytic thermal tip temperature which is monitored by a thermocouple positioned within the chamber. Vacuum and gas flow are controlled by an automatic or manual controller which is in direct communication with the temperature monitor.

  • Patent number: 4711252
Abstract: A method and apparatus for mounting concaves in an axial flow combine having the threshing and separating rotor extending in a longitudinal direction is disclosed wherein the concaves can be mounted on its adjustable mounting frame through the side of the combine. A pair of longitudinally spaced concave frame members are provided with yokes engageable with longitudinally extending mounting pins affixed to the mounting frame. Support plates carried by the mounting frame can be utilized to support the weight of the concave during the mounting procedure. Retaining links mounted on the mounting pins in conjunction with the concave yokes are connected to the concave frame members to retain the concave on the mounting pins during operation of the combine.

  • Patent number: 4197693
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a combine with a unique sealing arrangement between the pivotable feeder housing and the inlet opening. The rearward portion of the feeder housing, extending into the inlet opening, includes spaced apart arcuate smooth edge plates which mate with, but do not contact, sealing blocks affixed to the inside vertical side edges of the inlet opening. The feeder housing further includes axially aligned pivot arms which extend away therefrom to engage a pair of support yokes which permit the housing to pivot vertically. The pivot arms and the edge plates have the same central axis so that pivoting of the feeder housing does not interfere with the sealing block/edge plate relationship.

  • Patent number: 4140047
Abstract: Mobile vehicles and the like having enclosed cabs such as tractors, combines and the like, are provided with air inlet means for the comfort of the operator. The air inlet means are provided with a readily removable filter element and means to support the same by an overhanging forward portion of the roof which extends beyond the windshield of the cab. The filter element is supported by a frame and includes means to raise and lower the frame respectively to support the filter element in upper, operative position and lower, removable position, insertion and removal of the same occurring through an opening adjacent one side edge of the roof of the cab and normally closed by a door, the entire removal occurring exteriorly of the interior of the cab.
