Abstract: Disclosed are methods to detect agents that modulate a membrane androgen receptor (mAR). In one embodiment, the invention provides a method to detect and optionally identify mAR binding ligands. One assay according to the invention detects agents that selectively bind the mAR relative to binding to the classical intracellular androgen receptor (iAR or AR). The invention has a wide spectrum of useful applications including providing a method of screening libraries for chemical entities that preferentially bind the mAR.

Abstract: A holder for a bicycle having a first wheel and a second wheel, each wheel including a rim and a tire. The holder includes a floor supported channel for receiving the first wheel, a wall supported channel situated adjacent to the floor supported channel for receiving the first wheel, a wall supported standard situated above the wall supported channel, and a wheel engaging apparatus connected to the wall supported standard for engaging the second wheel. The wheel engaging apparatus includes a base, a coupling member coupling the base to the wall supported standard, an axis defining member fixed to the base, a pivot member pivotally engaging the axis defining member, a first arm and a second arm, both arms having a proximal portion fixed to the pivot member for pivotal displacement with respect to the base between a wheel engaging position and a wheel releasing position.

Abstract: Novel rubber connectors and other rubber parts for use in human infusion sets and rubber compositions and other rubber parts for use in human infusion sets and products produced thereby, such compositions comprising by weight a major amount of rubber selected from mixtures of natural rubber and synthetic natural rubber, the novel composition further comprising by weight a minor amount of a high density polyolefin and a filler, the composition being capable of being cured with an effective amount of a peroxide curing agent and an activator to achieve cross-linking of the rubber and the high density polyolefin.
