  • Patent number: 9037334
Abstract: A computer controlled electric vehicle is disclosed that includes two high power batteries, a motor drive circuit, an electric motor that drives the vehicle drive train, a generator, an internal combustion engine, and battery charging circuitry. The batteries are connected to the motor drive circuit in a mutually exclusive fashion where only one battery is online or connected at any given time and the other battery is offline. The offline battery is recharged by battery charging circuitry that receives its power from a generator that is mechanically driven by an onboard hydrocarbon engine. When the online battery is depleted, the computer disconnects the online battery from the motor drive circuit and connects the offline battery to the motor drive circuit. The depleted battery is then charged in readiness for the next battery switch event. An external power plug enables recharging of the batteries when external power is available.

  • Patent number: 4920634
Abstract: A rotor structure for a dynamoelectric machine including a magnetic core having a cylindrical outer surface. Equicircumferentially spaced permanent magnets are secured to the face of the core with gaps therebetween on diametrically opposite locations of the core. The outer surfaces of the magnets define a cylindrical surface. A retention and encircles the magnets. The band has a width substantially less than the width of the magnets including opposite ends overlapped and aligned with a securement gap. The core has a first hole aligned with the securement gap. A securement unit has a seat engaging the overlapping ends and a stem in the core hole to lock the band in holding engagement. The head is located within the cylindrical surface. A second hole is diametrically spaced from the first hole and aligned with a second gap. The second hole is formed to balance the rotor and may also receive a second securement unit to establish the band tension.

  • Patent number: 4232660
Abstract: A surgical device for surgical procedures requiring exposure and visibility of the facial skeletal areas comprises an elongated blade member having a handle portion adjacent one end and a curved lip portion adjacent the distal end for forming a fulcrum with an associated bone process and a pair of wing projections laterally inclined from the blade member providing increased retraction of soft tissue and muscle in the surgical working area. An integral irrigating conduit is provided for delivering a flush of water to the surgical working area as required for cleaning.
