Patent number: 5259524Abstract: A device, system and method for preventing unwanted movement or shifting of drums or containers stored in groups of two or more. A core member is positioned intermediate, among or between the drums or containers and at least one pressure exerting member or strap is utilized to urge the drums or containers inwardly into direct abutment with the core member. The core member may be specifically configured such that the individual drums or containers will nest or seat firmly against the core member. The pressure-exerting member may comprise any suitable type of pressure-exerting apparatus or article including strap(s), band(s), plastic shrink wrapping, cable, chains, etc. . . . The core member may be formed in multiple segments or may be specifically configured to accommodate tapered, angled or odd shaped drums or containers having sidewalls which are not perfectly vertical.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1992Date of Patent: November 9, 1993Assignee: Robert L. Patent number: 5147039Abstract: There is disclosed a containment tray which is formed of plastic which is molded into a tray having upright perimeter walls and a bottom wall having transverse channels in its undersurface for receiving the conventional arms of a forklift or pallet jack. The tray can be formed by vacuum thermal forming, in which case it is used in combination with a platform insert formed by a pair of beams which are received within the tray and which support transverse rails thereby forming an upper platform. Alternatively, the tray can be rotationally molded and the raised platform can be molded into the tray in the form of a plurality of upstanding plugs. In either embodiment, the upper planar surface of the raised platform is positioned above the level of the upper edges of the side walls of the tray whereby a conventional forklift can deposit loads of containers mounted on standard wooden pallets onto the raised platform of the tray, and remove those pallets, when desired.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1991Date of Patent: September 15, 1992Assignee: Containment CorporationInventors: Lee G. Sechler, Robert L. Eckert, Don C. Aktins

Patent number: 4634076Abstract: A bobbin for desoldering braid includes a hub and heads extending outwardly at the end of the hub. One head has a curling portion of flexible material establishing a surface in overlying and spaced relationship to the peripheral edge of the other radially extending flat head to cover the winding of braid on the hub when curled inwardly to a closed position and extending away from the flat head to expose the winding when curled to an open position. The hub is formed with a slot which can be narrowed by applying pressure to the ends of the hub in order to hold the end of the braid during winding. Upon release of the pressure the end of the braid is released from the slot and the winding of braid is held loosely between the heads of the bobbin. The braid is thereby permitted to slip during unwinding by pulling the braid straight out from the bobbin with a minimum of friction between the braid and the heads of the bobbin.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 1985Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Inventors: Robert L. Patent number: 4084845Abstract: There is disclosed a security lock for emergency door latches which are typically provided with a crash bar pivotally carried on the door and extending transversely across its inner face. The security lock comprises a bracket arm which is pivotally mounted on the side brackets of the door latch mechanism and which carries, on its free end, a cover bar which overlies a substantial portion of the crash bar. The bracket arm is provided with locking means for restraining its pivotal movement whereby the bracket arm and its dependent cover bar can be restrained in a raised or lowered position, thereby preventing actuation of the crash bar, or locking the crash bar in its latch disengaging position.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1976Date of Patent: April 18, 1978Inventor: Robert L. Patent number: 4050578Abstract: There is disclosed a dispenser and applicator tool for the dispensing and fastening of clips such as hog rings and the like to work elements. The applicator mechanism of the tool has pivotal jaw members for clinching the clip about the work element and an appropriate mechanism for effecting pivotal movement of these jaw members. The dispensing mechanism of the tool includes a removable magazine of clips aligned in a stacked, face-to-face array with a feeder mechanism to advance the clips to the tool. The feeder mechanism and pivotal jaw members are interconnected by a slide including a plate mounted for reciprocal movement on the tool body and effective to advance the magazine into clip dispensing alignment with the jaw members of the tool. The jaw members have a clip receiving groove with a beveled land therein to receive a clip from the dispensing magazine.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1976Date of Patent: September 27, 1977Inventor: Robert L.
