    Abstract: A woven webbing sling (A) for hoisting industrial cargo is disclosed which includes woven outer plies (28,29) which include woven warp yarns (22,24 and 30,32) interwoven with a weft yarn (26). Plies of filler material (35) extend between the outer plies. Protective edges (18,20) include vinyl coated yarns (B) having elongation properties generally equal to that of the woven warp yarns to resist cutting of the sling.
