-
Patent number: 5566606Abstract: A barbecue grill has a bottom casting formed with a flange portion along its periphery. The flange portion extends up at an angle between approximately thirty and forty-five degrees from a cooking grate so that grease produced while cooking may be directed into the bottom casting, through an aperture in the bottom casting, and into a grease collection cup. The grease collection cup is mounted to the bottom casting in a manner which permits the tilting of the cup relative to the bottom casting. The periphery of the bottom casting is formed with an upstanding tongue which is received within a groove formed in a hood of the barbecue grill. The groove defines an inner leg for directing grease into the grill and an outer leg for directing water away from the inside of the grill.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1994Date of Patent: October 22, 1996Inventor: Robert L. Johnston
-
Patent number: 5452707Abstract: A barbecue grill cart assembly is provided having a unique leg locking system at each corner. The locking system provides a plurality of contact points for each leg to obviate any swaying or twisting of the legs. The lower shelf includes extruded bolt receiving apertures which mate with corresponding apertures in the legs. The side shelves having a locking system including elongated slots which provide positive engagement and prevent accidental lowering of the shelves.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1992Date of Patent: September 26, 1995Assignee: W. C. Bradley CompanyInventors: Rodney G. Harris, John Seal, Robert L. Johnston, Marvin R. Windham

-
Patent number: 5224676Abstract: A universal rotisserie mounting bracket assembly is disclosed, the assembly mounting the motor on a side shelf of a barbecue grill cart for distancing the motor from the intense heat of the grill and prolonging its life. The bracket assembly is designed for vertical adjustability of the motor, ensuring compatibility with a plurality of differently configured grill castings and facilitating vertical adjustment of the rod for adjusting cooking times.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 1991Date of Patent: July 6, 1993Assignee: W. C. Bradley CompanyInventor: Robert L. Johnston
-
Patent number: 4993755Abstract: A quick connect fitting in which tubing can be inserted into a pre-assembled fitting where it will become sealed and locked against pull-out. A main fitting body has an open-ended recess in which is located a movable piston to seal against the body and an inserted tube. The piston wedges over a conical extension on a sealing gland retained by a screw-on cap. The sealing gland has rearward, circumferentially spaced fingers radially movable. An axially shiftable ring, in one position, allows the fingers to expand to receive the tube, and, when shifted to a second position, moves the finger to engage the extension surface of the tube to lock against withdrawal.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1989Date of Patent: February 19, 1991Assignee: Master Industries, Inc.Inventor: Robert L. Johnston

Patent number: 4664427Abstract: A quick connect fitting for tubing which can be inserted into a pre-assembled fitting where it will become sealed and locked against pull-out. A main fitting body has an open-ended recess in which is located a movable piston to seal against the body and an inserted tube. The piston wedges over a conical extension on a sealing gland retained by a snap-on cap, the gland and the cap having complemental spherical surfaces to allow swivel movement of the tube without disturbing the seal in the tube. A locking ring retainer grabs the tube annularly and bears against the piston to resist pull-out.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1985Date of Patent: May 12, 1987Assignee: Master Industries, Inc.Inventor: Robert L.
