Abstract: A jalousie assembly comprising a plurality of independently adjustable front and rear panels forming tandem pairs. A front panel operator operates the front panels and a rear panel operator operates the rear panels independently from the front panels. Thus, the front panels can be opened independently from the rear panels or together with the rear panels. The front panel may be constructed of aluminum or glass while the rear panel may be constructed of transparent glass.

Abstract: The invention herein provides a key operated locking device for utilization with an awning window. The locking device allows the building occupant to fix the rotatable panels in an open posture to assist in preventing vandals and burglars from entering the premises by further opening the rotatable panels. The locking device includes a removable key and a latch which can be rotated into a slot which is positioned in the slide bar of the crank mechanism.

Abstract: An extruded aluminum window frame is shown having a thermal barrier held in place within the extrusion by channels having circular C-shaped insulation end pockets. An extrusion bridge is preferably located between the circular C-shaped insulation pockets in skip-debridged form within a polyurethane thermal barrier or may be conventionally located below the polyurethane thermal barrier for entire removal.

Abstract: An integrated smoke and intrusion alarm system is provided for windows, doors or other openings in exterior building walls and includes a solar battery charging device and a magnetic test switch. The integrated alarm system is concealed from view and includes a frame assembly with apertures whereby smoke inside the building is easily detected.

Abstract: A security awning window is presented with increased safety factors which grant protection against both adverse weather conditions and unauthorized entry. Alarm struts span the window which, if deflected act as a switch for an audible alarm and also engage the panels to provide increased burglar or adverse weather protection.

Abstract: Jalousie apparatus is presented whereby a pair of louver blades are affixed one behind the other to a rotatable shaft for opening and closing the blades in unison. Spacers are positioned between the shaft and the louver blades having apertures which allow pressure equalization between succeeding tiers of blade pairs when columns of pairs of blades are utilized. The jalousie apparatus provides a window which forms a sealed air chamber with the louver blades closed which is highly resistant to air and water infiltration and which has a high insulation value.
