  • Patent number: 11634901
Abstract: A method of making a geodesic shape is provided. The method comprises of providing and assembling a plurality of pre-made forms, and a plurality of struts. The pre-made forms have a triangular shape, first and second inner edges, and an outer edge. The length of each inner edge and outer edge are determined by the frequency of the geodesic shape, diameter of the geodesic shape, and known formulas for relating diameter and frequency when creating a geodesic dome or sphere. Using the pre-made forms and struts, a polygonal shape is assembled, each shape having either five or six pre-made forms. The resulting desired polygonal shape and additional desired polygonal shapes made using the same steps are connected at preset angles in known geodesic form and function. The desired polygonal shapes then combine to form a desired geodesic shape. Throughout the process, no struts are operably coupled to other struts.

  • Patent number: 6639960
Abstract: A head assembly of a reactor pressure vessel in an ice condenser plant is retrofitted to permit the assembly to be removed during a later refueling operation in reduced time and with reduced exposure to radiation by operating personnel. The portions of the ductwork ventilation system that originally provided cooling air to CRDMs are removed below the seismic support platform. The original CRDM cooling shroud that surrounds the lower portion of the CRDM assemblies is extended to the seismic support platform. A plenum is mounted on the seismic support platform and in air flow communication with interior portion of the extended CRDM cooling shroud. The plenum fits under the missile shield. Spool pieces are connected between the plenum and the portion of the ductwork adjacent to the seismic support platform.

  • Patent number: 5411433
Abstract: The shield of this invention has a skirt that is tilted or slanted forward which, together with longer bristles, provides a substantial improvement in these type devices. Also provided in the shield of this invention is an adjustable, slanted clamp that can be adapted for connection to various size sanders. A baffle is also included within the shield to form a tunnel effect which enhances suctioning or vacuuming off of debris resulting from the sanding operation.

  • Patent number: 4881434
Abstract: A tool for threading oversized rope through an opening in an elastic strap. The tool includes a plier type implement having both upper and lower jaws which are movable between an open position and a closed position. The upper jaw has an opening formed therein and the lower jaw includes a hollow member in alignment with the upper jaw opening when the jaws are in a closed position. The outside surface of the hollow member on the lower jaw will accept an opening in an elastic strap and the inside surface of the hollow member allows an oversized rope to pass therethrough and be threaded into the opening in the elastic strap which is on the lower jaw hollow member.

  • Patent number: 4229891
Abstract: A placard holding device for displaying a placard upon a vertical planar surface comprises a back frame member adapted for mounting upon the vertical planar surface and a front frame member having a flat surface portion enclosing an open window area. The front frame member is secured by a fastening assembly upon the back frame member. The fastening assembly includes a spacer member which holds the flat surface portion outwardly spaced from the back member and forms a placard holding pocket between the flat surface portion and the back frame member which is partially peripherally bounded by the spacer member. The portion of the pocket not bounded by the spacer member defines an access slot. An integral closure mechanism is provided which is operative for movement between an open position permitting passage of the placard through the access slot and a closed position preventing such passage.
