  • Publication number: 20230197303
Abstract: A radiation barrier provides adjustable protection against radiation incident from multiple directions simultaneously. First and second radiation shields are pivotally retained by an axis post to form a radiation shield assembly. Each radiation shield is formed from radiation shielding material with a lead equivalence. The radiation shields have a closed configuration where the shields are disposed in a nesting relationship to a single side of the axis post with the first radiation shield disposed interior to the second radiation shield. The first radiation shield pivots in a plane laterally displaced from the center axis of the axis post by a distance D1 while the second radiation shield pivots in a plane laterally displaced from the center axis by a greater distance D2. Notches can be disposed in the proximal end portion of the first radiation shield to permit mounting brackets of the second radiation shield to be received therethrough.

  • Publication number: 20210092262
Abstract: A covering for an electronic imaging device with an optically transparent display screen viewing window centrally disposed in a band bag sleeve to define an inner volume with a mouth. An adherent, such as an optically transparent adhesive, is disposed on an inner surface of the viewing window for adhering to a display screen of the electronic imaging device. A cinching mechanism is operative to constrict the mouth of the band bag sleeve. A sterile barrier is thus created between the electronic imaging device and an exterior environment while permitting optically clear, stable viewing and operation of the display screen. A method for enveloping an electronic imaging device with a covering is founded on providing such a covering, causing the electronic imaging device to be received through the mouth and into the inner volume, and adhering the display screen viewing window to the display screen.

  • Patent number: 8710477
Abstract: A radiation protective garment having three layers including an inner layer having a plurality of apertures defined therein, a radiation protective layer and an outer layer, such garment having internal stays for supporting the garment's weight above the shoulders of the wearer with such weight resting on the wearer's waist/pelvic area, with the structure and method including an air movement device disposed on the exterior of the garment for directing an air flow through an air entry aperture formed in the outer layer and radiation protective layer with such air flow then passing through the plurality of apertures formed in the inner layer to cool the wearer of the garment. The air movement device and method can also include an air cooling device.

  • Patent number: 5844246
Abstract: A radiation protective garment and radiation protective garment shoulder supports for use with a radiation protective garment are disclosed having at least one stay member which transfers all the weight of the garment off the wearer's shoulders to the waist/pelvic area of the wearer by means of a support belt securely positioned around the lower portions of the stay member(s) located at the waist area of the wearer. Such stay member(s) can be disposed internally within the radiation protective garment or worn under such garment.
