Publication number: 20240385697Abstract: A modular electronic device system that can include a computing device in electronic communication with an input device. Various types of sensor contained in either or both of the computing device and input device are used to determine orientation and hinge angle between the computing device and input device. Input settings can be changed according to the data from the various sensors. The input device can also include an elongated tail that is configured to attach to the computing device. The elongated tail can allow multiple physical configurations for ease of use.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2024Publication date: November 21, 2024Inventors: Santhana K. Balaji, Jaime G. Chavez Ruiz Garza, Blake R. Marshall, Robert U. Liu, Chen Zheng, Ramon Villar Ramirez, Jonathan M. Beard, Adam S. Howell, Taylor H. Gilbert, Alexander L. Jackson, Qigen Ji

Patent number: 9984170Abstract: A system and method links one or more disparate community awareness management (CAM) datasets for a community awareness program (CAP) with one or more spatial layers to create linked CAM datasets. One or more data attributes common to a CAM dataset and a spatial layer are identified, and the link is defined between the CAM dataset and the spatial layer. The spatial layer and the linked CAM dataset then may be queried using a single input query. Features from the spatial layer and features from the linked CAM dataset that match the query are generated for display. In one embodiment, a system and method manage CAP assets, transactions, interest areas for the CAP, and buffer areas for the CAP. An audience utility enables entering and maintaining audience data for the CAP. A journal utility enables making journal entries for one or more audience members, CAP assets, transactions, and/or other CAM data. A link document utility enables linking one or more documents to CAM data.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2006Date of Patent: May 29, 2018Assignee: CELERITASWORKS, LLCInventors: Scott A. Evans, Robert L. Marshall, Brett A. Lester, Larry D. Miley

Patent number: 8601164Abstract: Techniques for HTTP header compression are described herein. In an implementation, an electronic device may be configured to enable compression/decompression of HTTP messages, including compression/decompression of information in the headers of the messages. A HTTP message is generated that contains at least a header and a body. The HTTP message is reformatted to place at least some of the header information into the body. Then, the body of the reformatted message having the header information is compressed to form a compressed HTTP message. Decompression may be applied by a recipient of the compressed HTTP message to reconstruct the original HTTP message.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2009Date of Patent: December 3, 2013Assignee: Garmin Switzerland GmbHInventors: Nicholas S. Grimsley, Kyle J. Hill, Robert L. Marshall, Sean A. Pfeifer

Patent number: 8141929Abstract: A power operated retractable tailgate assembly for a vehicle that includes a tailgate with opposite end edges thereof connected via sliding pivots to a respective one of a pair of elongate slide rails. The slide rails mount in lateral spaced apart relation on the underside of the floor of the cargo carrying box on the vehicle. A first extendible and retractable assembly, having relatively movable respective first and second portions, has the first portion anchored to the vehicle and a second portion that is hingedly connected to the tailgate proximate a lower marginal edge thereof. A power means is operatively connected to the extendible and retractable assembly and is operable from within the cab of the vehicle selectively to extend and retract the tailgate by moving the tailgate along the slide members.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2009Date of Patent: March 27, 2012Inventor: Robert L. Marshall

Patent number: 6276738Abstract: A retractable tailgate assembly includes a release mechanism embedded within a conventional pickup truck tailgate and a support frame attached to the underside of the bed for slidably retracting and holding the tailgate inbetween the pickup truck bed and the frame. The retractable tailgate assembly can be incorporated into new pickup trucks or adapted to existing vehicles. The retractable tailgate does not extend beyond the bed of the truck a distance greater than a traditional original equipment manufacturer's tailgate and utilizes the conventional lock and pivot points of the pickup truck tailgate.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2000Date of Patent: August 21, 2001Assignee: Bob Marshall Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Robert L.
