  • Patent number: 7878432
Abstract: A plunger can for a roller assembly within a pulverizing mill has a body which contains a compression spring. A stub shaft transfers the force generated by the compression spring to the roller assembly. A bushing in cooperation with a locking guide in the fore end of the plunger can, along with the stub shaft in an aft end of the plunger can, contains the compression spring there between. The locking guide has an annular flange that fits within an annular channel within the plunger can body. A plurality of extensions spaced around an outside perimeter of the annular flange cooperates with a plurality of extensions around an inside perimeter of the plunger can body such that both sets of extensions clear each other when the locking guide is inserted into the plunger can body. When rotated, the sets of extensions are aligned with each, forming a mechanical lock.

  • Patent number: 5951277
Abstract: A shield in the form of a "cast refrac" (S.U.B.S.) for a diffuser port in a circulating fluidized bed to deflect eroding particulates away from the port. The S.U.B.S. includes an upper portion with a tear-drop shape, a lower portion, and side intermediate portions to surround the port, and an attached insert to be received by or around the port.

  • Patent number: 5538192
Abstract: A plunger can structure and a mated spring compressor system. The plunger can includes a plunger tip and an indicator rod extending from the plunger tip through the plunger can and out the opposite end of the plunger can. Removal and replacement of a shim between the plunger tip and the roller assembly which adjust the force on the roller assembly, can be easily accomplished without opening the clamshell doors to the mill by drawing the indicator rod out of the opposite end of the plunger can to effect a drawing in of the plunger tip.

  • Patent number: 5242123
Abstract: A substantially one-piece cast plunger can structure and a mated spring compressor system. The plunger can includes a removable plunger bearing on one end that is attached to the plunger can with both interlocking lugs and bolts and is designed for removal with a spring compressor that holds it in place.

  • Patent number: 5127592
Abstract: A one-piece pulverizing mill roller assembly and method of rebuilding the same. The roller assembly comprises a body, an integral hub portion and an integral circumferential outside tread portion which mates with an annular groove in a grinding table. The roller assembly is composed of a relatively lower hardness steel which will accept hard surface weld beads to rebuild the circumferential outside tread portion as it wears. The rebuilding can be performed in-place in the pulverizing mill.
