  • Patent number: 9057627
Abstract: A device for providing flight condition information and a method of displaying such information. In one form, the device functions as a backup system to provide flight condition information in the event of partial or complete inoperability of a primary flight instrument system, or to complement such primary flight instrument system. Numerous sensors collect flight data, which can pass through devices to convert and manipulate the data to produce flight condition information that can be displayed in such a way as to reduce a pilot's cognitive workload. The information displayed includes at least flight path angle, lateral acceleration, and turn rate. Additional information that may be displayed includes heading information, as well as information relating to airspeed and altitude, among others. In another form, the device can be part of either a primary or backup system.

  • Patent number: 5231562
Abstract: A desktop wire management apparatus comprises an elongated wire storage compartment removably mountable under an access opening in the desktop, a forwardly openable front door in a front wall of the wire storage compartment, and a self contained wiring module removably mountable in a wiring module opening in a rear wall of the wire storage compartment at a vertical position above the bottom of the wire storage compartment. An access door is pivotally mounted in a frame in the desktop access opening, with a temporary power tap being mounted on the underside of the access door.

  • Patent number: 4936794
Abstract: A recessed electrical outlet is provided mounted in a wall and includes an outlet box that has an outer mounting surface for receiving an electric receptacle aligned with the surface in combination with a recessed cover plate to protect an electric plug which will not protrude past the wall. The outlet box can be secured to side of a wall stud by a fastener driven from open side of the outlet box through an angular mounting hole in a reinforced boss.

  • Patent number: 4855565
Abstract: A work head (10) has a base member (12) which is connectable to carrier means (30) of a machine for lateral movement of the work head (10) parallel to an X-Y plane of a three-axes co-ordinate system, for longitudinal movement of work head (10) parallel to the Z-axis of that system and for rotating work head (10) on an A-axis parallel to the Z-axis; link means (14) connected to base member (12) so as to pivot relative thereto on a B'-axis parallel to the X-Y plane; a work member (16) connected to link means (14) so as to pivot relative thereto about a B"-axis spaced parallel to the B'-axis. Work member (16) defines a path by which a work medium is able to pass from a source to an outlet defined at a work end (52) of work member (16). Drive means (64,66) is operable to pivot each link means (14) and work member (16), on its axis, but in opposite directions and with the work member (16) pivoting through twice the angle of pivoting of link means (14) relative to base member (12).

  • Patent number: 4456494
Abstract: A blasting composition, method, and system for making such is disclosed. The blasting composition consists essentially of a particulate inorganic nitrate oxidizer, a particulate metal fuel, water, and a gelling agent. The composition is prepared by blending 10-20% by weight of the total amount of water to be added to the composition, with the particulate inorganic nitrate oxidizer; adding a dry blend of gelling agent and particulate metal fuel to the damp oxidizer; briefly mixing the two components; adding the remainder of the water; and slowly subjecting the mixture to a tumbling action for a brief period of time sufficient to obtain a uniform composition.

  • Patent number: 4388254
Abstract: A blasting composition, method and system for making such is disclosed. The blasting composition is a homogeneous slurry-type blasting agent containing a major amount of water and a relatively small amount of a particulate fuel, preferably a particulate metal fuel. The blasting composition is made by premixing the fuel with water and a gelling agent to form a stable suspension of fuel in the water, metering the suspension of fuel into a dry particulate mixture of an inorganic metal oxidizer and a gelling agent, and slowly tumbling the mixture a short time sufficient to obtain a uniform composition without desensitizing the composition to detonation.
