  • Patent number: 8988355
Abstract: A keyboard activates areas of a touchscreen according to user interaction with the keyboard. A discharge circuit provides a discharge path for altering the electrostatic field of the touchscreen. Such discharge circuit excludes the user's finger (or stylus). Instead of grounding to the user, a ground plane in varying embodiments may be contained within the keyboard, or be formed at least in part by by the case of the keyboard, the case of the host device, or the ground plane of the host device. The keyboard includes an electrical ground member to absorb the capacitive discharge and/or conduct such discharge to the ground plane.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2012
Date of Patent: March 24, 2015
    Assignee: SoloMatrix, Inc.
Inventors: Robert L. Solomon, Chad J. MacDonald, Steven L. Korn

  • Patent number: 5656161
Abstract: An improved salt basket for dewatering solids, particularly salts resulting from evaporation of industrial wastewaters. The salt basket system includes a pressurizable vessel having a screen floor situated above a bottom liquid collection head, an inlet for the brine/solids slurry from which solids are to be separated and dried, an inlet for air, an inlet for steam (the latter two inlets may be combined, where convenient), an inlet for solids free feed, and a drain outlet (these two may be combined where convenient into a combination feed/drain connection). Preferably, an automated system for introducing feed brine and for removing the solids product is provided. For safety, a pivotally attached lower door has a hydraulic failsafe closure mechanism and locking safety latches to prevent the door from inadvertently opening.

  • Patent number: 5057294
Abstract: The specification discloses a spent seed recovery and regeneration process for an MHM power plant employing an alkali metal salt seed material such as potassium salt wherein the spent potassium seed in the form of potassium sulfate is collected from the flue gas and reacted with calcium hydroxide and carbon monoxide in an aqueous solution to cause the formation of calcium sulfate and potassium formate. The pH of the solution is adjusted to supress formation of formic acid and to promote precipitation of any dissolved calcium salts. The solution containing potassium formate is then employed to provide the potassium salt in the form of potassium formate or, optionally, by heating the potassium formate under oxidizing conditions to convert the potassium formate to potassium carbonate.
