    Abstract: This invention relates to dry, dense, hydrophilic polyurethane foam cleaning pads containing abrasives, detergents and combinations thereof dispersed integrally therein as well as to a method of manufacturing these pads. The pads' surfaces are strengthened by the densification of the reacting prepolymer resin during manufacture, and preferably the pads have at least one surface textured for additional cleaning area. The surfaces can contain an optional additional layer of abrasives to obtain a greater durability and a more desirable scouring action.

    Abstract: This disclosure teaches synthetic polyurethane sponges manufactured with at least 5% of one or more additives dispersed therein. The additives may be soap, lotions, detergents, pesticides, lanolin, scouring particles, silicone oils, bath oils, or the like or combinations thereof. The sponges' skeletons are developed by reaction of a polyether or a polyester with a suitable isocyanate in the presence of a catalyst with the additives entrapped in voids of the sponges. An additive bearing material, i.e. a carrier material containing the additive is prepared. The carrier material is then mixed into a foam forming reaction mass. By this expedient the additive does not impair desired foam formation. The sponges are provided with high liquid absorbency and fine "hand" by virtue of manufacturing methods and specific catalysts employed.

    Abstract: This disclosure teaches a disposable syringe, preferably made of biodegradable paper, and adapted for vaginal douching. A tubular nozzle is provided with an axial passage and has a first end insertable into a woman's vagina as well as a second end sealed to a flexible bag that encloses a reservoir. At least one spray opening is formed in the first end of the nozzle and it communicates in flow series with the reservoir via the axial passage. A membrane in the bag is adapted to contain a douche powder therein. Means are provided, for example a pull string, to tear the membrane for mixing the douche powder with water in the reservoir.
