  • Publication number: 20240157160
Abstract: A wearable article is provided as a wearable component of a medical device configured with elements to accommodate electrode pads in a manner that offers flexibility, cushion, and temperature regulation for comfort of a patient, as well as facilitating distribution of pressure on the electrode pads against the body of the patient. A containment portion of the wearable article houses the electrode pad and a spacer structure. The spacer structure is flexible to move as the body of the patient moves and yet provides a level of stiffness for pressure on the underlying electrode. Numerous springy elements dispersed in the spacer structure provide a thickness and open space for air circulation through the spacer structure, resulting in temperature regulation of the wearable article.

  • Publication number: 20240108907
Abstract: A wearable cardioverter defibrillator system includes a support structure that a patient can wear. The system also includes electrodes that contact the patient, and define two or more channels from which ECG signals are sensed. A processor may evaluate the channels by analyzing their respective ECG signals, to determine which contains less noise than the other(s). The analysis can be by extracting statistics from the ECG signals, optionally after first processing them, and then by comparing these statistics. These statistics may include tall peak counts, amplitudes of peaks compared to historical peak amplitudes, signal baseline shift, dwell time near a baseline, narrow peak counts, zero crossings counts, determined heart rates, and so on. Once the less noisy signal is identified, its channel can be followed preferentially or to the exclusion of other channels, for continuing monitoring and/or determining whether to shock the patient.

  • Patent number: 11938333
Abstract: A wearable medical includes a walking detector module with a motion sensor that is configured to detect when the patient is walking or running. In embodiments, a parameter (referred to herein as a “Bouncy” parameter) is determined from Y-axis acceleration measurements. In some embodiments, the Bouncy parameter is a measurement of the AC component of the Y-axis accelerometer signal. This detection can be used by the medical device to determine how and/or whether to provide treatment to the patient wearing the medical device. For example, when used in a WCD, the walking detector can prevent “false alarms” because a walking patient is generally conscious and not in need of a shock.

  • Patent number: 6317319
Abstract: A cooling assembly for cooling a CPU on a motherboard in a low profile electronic device. The assembly comprises a channel-shaped heat sink having a flat first wall, an opposite wall, open first and second ends and internal heat exchange fins extending between those walls and ends. An electric blower having an inlet and an outlet is mounted to the heat sink so that the blower outlet is aligned with the first end of the heat sink and the heat sink is anchored to the CPU so that the first wall of the heat sink is flush against the CPU and the blower inlet overhangs an edge of the motherboard. Preferably, a baffle member is mounted to the heat sink to direct heated air from the second end of the heat sink to the atmosphere and to prevent recirculation of that air back to the blower inlet.

  • Patent number: 5224862
Abstract: A religious learning unit for initial teaching and reinforcement teaching of biblical knowledge and principles in a competitive, but supportive game environment. The unit consists of a game board having four major quadrants or focus areas bounded by contiguous perimeter spaces separated by bisecting perpendicular paths also formed of contiguous spaces. Various spaces around the board are designated as pieces of the Armor of God. The object of the game is to advance along the spaces, collect all the pieces of armor and answer a final question. In order to advance, each player must answer an appropriate question listed on a card. The question deals with the Bible. The first player to collect all six pieces of armor is allowed to proceed to the center square and to answer the last question. Whether it is answered correctly or incorrectly, as soon as an answer is given the game is over.
