    Abstract: The invention is a psychological system that combines a personal protection device with a clearly identifiable static display to show that recording of actions and identities is highly likely. It is a multipurpose system, operating as a personal security device with pulsating red and blue lights as a visible warning, a video system recording identities and criminal or abusive behavior; as a vehicle security system with a rear vehicle reflective display sticker showing that recording of actions and identities is highly likely, with a personal protection device in the vehicle on the driver's wrist; a system that works like a home security device with a preemptive yard sign indicating the presence of technical security within the home. If a crime is committed, the video and audio recording will reveal the time, the person's identity, and actions to provide for criminal prosecution. Thus, it preemptively and non-confrontationally discourages criminal and abusive behavior.

In one exemplary application, the compressor can be used for each stage of the multi-stage compression process used in production of compressed natural gas (CNG), in which low-pressure natural gas (NG) is compressed to less than 1 percent of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure (e.g., to 2,900-3,600 psi or 20-25 MPa). The compressor includes spark-avoidance, heat-mitigation and oil separation systems to safely and effectively produce CNG from NG.

    Abstract: An apparatus with a stereoscopic three-dimensional video display. The video presentation is divided into left and right views for the left and right eyes, respectively. A face plate with left and right ocular apertures is disposed on an exterior surface of the vending machine in an optimal position for viewing. A divider plate is centered between the left and right views and the left and right ocular apertures so that a viewer's left eye can only see the left view of the video presentation and vice-versa. In one embodiment, the apparatus is incorporated in a vending machine. When a purchaser buys a product from the vending machine, the purchaser may view a short video presentation through the stereoscopic display, which depicts something of interest to the viewer. In another embodiment, the apparatus in incorporated in a housing associated with media player.

The control and protection system is capable of evaluating the relationship between real power used by an HVACR system compressor and other system operating parameters to detect problems early in the failure cycle, i.e., before a failure has progressed to requiring a system shutdown or causing damage to other components. Additionally, a control system and method provide sensorless detection of various HVACR system faults, such as, for example, loss of refrigerant or a refrigerant flow restriction, that impact the relationship between real power and current, voltage, temperature, or other operating parameters.

    Abstract: A motor control system for a brushless and sensorless DC motor for driving a compressor, pump or other application, includes a protection and fault detection circuit for detecting a locked rotor and a rotor which has stopped because of lost rotor phase lock. The motor control system also includes an off-the-shelf motor control integrated circuit having an input for disabling power outputs to the motor phase coils. The protection and fault detection circuit uses a back EMF sampling circuit coupled to the motor phase coils and momentarily disables power to the motor phase coils, via the motor control integrated circuit input, to determine if the motor rotor is rotating. The system also monitors supply voltage, supply current, temperature, and motor speed limits to detect faults and protect system components.

    Abstract: A liquid level controller for a device having a liquid reservoir includes a control board and a reservoir assembly. The reservoir assembly is disposed within the reservoir and includes a liquid level sensor, which is electrically connected to the control circuit. The control board includes a control circuit and a pump. The control circuit has a control circuit and a resistive power supply to power the control circuit. The control circuit controls the pump in response to signals from the level sensor and includes a CMOS logic gate and a MOSFET transistor to switch the pump. The control circuit further includes a second resistive power supply connected to a relay which controls an alarm. The second power supply is activated by a transistor responsive to an alarm signal from the level sensor, and powers the relay only when the alarm signal is present.

    Abstract: Water-powered rotating brush device for use in a shower, having an elongated handle portion embodying a supply channel and a return channel, a flexible supply and return hose-pair connectable to the lower end of the handle, and a head portion which rotatably mounts a pair of eccentrically located gear rotors with the larger of the rotors having more teeth than the smaller, the rotors arranged so as to be positively displaced into rotary action by the flow therethrough of water under pressure. A massage brush is coupled to the larger gear rotor. A diverter valve rotatably mounted in the handle may be operated to cut off flow to the rotors and to shunt water from the supply channel directly to the return channel. A relief valve includes a spring biased piston that is displaceable by excessive pressure at the rotor head to open a relief port which allows water to by-pass the rotors and flow directly to the return channel.
